Some old tweets work for me, if I know the direct permalink.

Other old tweets, including starred tweets in my "favourites" appear to have vanished and are completely inaccessible.

I don't care if Twitter has problems, but the radio silence on the problems is what pisses me off the most. I _don't know_ if my old stuff is still there or not. If it's still there, fine, great, we can work from there, I can make backups. If the messed up and stuff have simply vanished, I'll have little faith in using Twitter no matter how much I like it, and will surely begin using another social messaging service.

Morten Blaabjerg asked a question in Twitter on July 21, 2008 21:43:

    Morten Blaabjerg
Why no access to tweets older than 2 months?
I need to check out tweets I made in february and march 2008, but can't go back further in my archive than about 2 months.

Why can't I see my archived tweets for longer back than 2 months?

    This is bad, because :

    - I relied upon the service to be able to access these notes of mine, but now it seems they're lost

    - Permanlinks made to these tweets won't work any more ? Or do they?

    - On another note, using Twitter for research suffers too, if total material on twitter which can be searched only goes back two months (Twitter much less useful for market analysis).

This worries me, and I fear I will rely less on Twitter, unless someone can reassure me our old tweets are safe and I don't need a backup plan.

    Best,
    Morten Blaabjerg, Kaplak
