Search delicious in the Firefox "awesome bar"
It would be very nice to get the delicious bookmark in the Firefox "awesome bar" search as for normal firefox bookmarks for faster search and use of them.

would be good to have a control over what it displays and be able to choose at least a number of individual notification or just one notification for all... and maybe, have a choice of what content is displayed (subject, sender, etc.)

Fills up the startup disk after running for a couple of hours
    Hello,

I am using Postbox on OS X with a 2Ghz dual code duo with 1 GB of SDRam. I have around 1.7Gb free on my hard drive.

If I leave postbox open in the background for more than a couple of hours, it fills up my start up disk and OS X starts complaining as it has no more space for swapping. I then have to quit postboc and wait until OSX reclaims all the hd space used by the swapped memory, or when it's really bad, just restart.

Postbox is great, but that's totally unusable if it leaks 1.7Gb of memory every time it runs in the background.

    Privacy questions
If I understand well, the firefox extension sends some data to your server that then extracts stats from it.

How does it work? does it send all the site that I am visiting to the server, just the used webapp information, something else? Is that data attached to my identity in some way and do you store that?

It would be nice to have this kind of information on your site and on the extension page. I wouldn't like to install an extension that tracks all of my moves and I am sure I am not the only one ;)

    Mortimer
if it can help, with recent version of SPIP, there will be a Composed-By: SPIP in the http header, there might also be a generator meta in the page (even if this is not always the case).

For older versions of SPIP, you can try to test for a "class='spip'" in the html, as well as a directory "ecrire" at the root of the site.

Would be great to have stats on this ;)

Songbird doesn't implement CD ripping yet. There aren't any immediate plans to add ripping support. It will probably end up as an addon at some point. Sorry :(

Take a look at our roadmap to see what we're planning to get done in the next few months: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Roadmap

songbird just asks me if I want to open them with... iTunes.

Last.fm scrobbler works once then doesn't loggin at the next startup.
I started using Songbird 1rc3 yesterday and managed to log in to last.fm and enable scrobbling.

This morning, I wanted to use songbird again, and when I checked if it was scrobbling, the last.fm icon is gray and there is no love/ban buttons.
In the tools menu, I see (all enabled) "Log out of last.fm", "log in to last.fm" as well as an unchecked "enable scrobbling".

    - If I check "enable", the logo stays grey and it doesn't seem to scrobble
    - if I click log in, nothing happens,
    - if I click log out, nothing happens

Ok, I found a workaround to the problem. I cleared space on my laptop, transferred a chunk of the backup photos back to my Pictures directory, added them to ShoeBox, and used the "backup to folder" feature to send it back to the external backup drive.

I did that a couple of times to get the whole set of photos in, and now I can start managing my backups properly with Shoebox. This is really a pain to have to copy the backup back to the main HD as it was really big.

Scott Fleckenstein's reply to "Can I use Satisfaction for a community, open source project?" was just promoted to the most useful! Mortimer and 5 other people think it's one of the best replies.

    Scott Fleckenstein
    I think that's a great idea!

Regarding the term 'company' and 'organization' in satisfaction: We tried to pick terminology that was not too general, given that some people already have issues figuring out just what Satisfaction actually is.

Given that we try to be specific, we realize that some concepts don't fit cleanly into the vocabulary we provide, but that is fine with us. For example, OAuth runs their customer support through us, and they are in the same position as you.

Sometimes, we prevent some communities from reaching the public home page if they are *way* off in another direction, but they are still public and available for people to promote on their own. For example, someone created a Satisfaction site for Life, and started a whole bunch of topics on existence, and we created a gag community for our CEO Thor. Both of these are sites that don't really fit with the satisfaction vision, and are more like ordinary forums and so we simply refrain from putting them on the home page.

For the overwhelming majority of uses, you'll still get promoted by us. Outside of Spam sites, I can only think of a tiny few that were'nt put on the home page.

Mortimer asked a question in Get Satisfaction on January 29, 2008 17:49:

    Mortimer
Can I use Satisfaction for a community, open source project?
    Hello,

I am a developer of Greasemonkey extensions to enhance the Flickr experience. All of these are open source. Some other developers in the Flickr community provide other scripts, usually open source too.

The scripts are usually standalone and could be seen as "products". However, there is no "company" behind these productions. The community is loosely centered around the Flickr Hacks group on Flickr, but there is no real lead or centralisation in the effort.

I was wondering if I could register "Flickr Greasemonkey Hacks" as a company on Satisfaction and add individual scripts as product. To allow a simpler follow up of problems, ideas and questions about the tools provided.

    Disk Import not working
I have an external HD where I back up loads of photos. So my laptop only contains the
photos from the last two month, and the backup disk photos going back to
last year, that are not any more on the laptop.

Some photos might also be at the same time on the laptop and in the backup.
Now, I understood one feature of
shoebox was to be able to import the external disk photos in the catalogue
without having them on the laptop disk, only keeping low resolution versions.

So I started the import in shoebox, it took a whole night (the external
HD is fast, but has a couple of Gb of raw photos on it).
Next morning, I had a new category "Disk/External" with a few photos in
it, but they are not all the photos that are on the external disk. After
checking, it looks like they are only photos that are on the laptop disk
and the backup disk at the same time. But it's not even a full coverage
of all these photos. So I am not sure of what's going on.

    "adjust date..." weird behaviour
Because of the crash issues with the metadata info data change and the way iPhoto screwed the dates of some of my photos, I mainly use the "adjust date..." which is a bit more stable.

However it sometimes has a weird way of working:
Let say I select a few
photos, from the same day, but with wrong dates, ranging from 1st Sept
to 10th of Nov. If I do the adjust date thing, it would give me the date
change only compared to the date of the last photo on the selection, and
correct wrongly the other dates. If I deselect the one photo dated on
10th of Nov to get only the one dated 1st of Sept, the adjust date still
gives me the date adjustment according to the last photo I selected,
THEN deselected (so it's not even selected).

    EXIF dates vs addition date
Most of my photos, even the
one that did not come from iPhoto have weird dates -- usually the date of
when I added them to the catalog -- but not the right EXIF day.

Trying the "get date from metadata" usually works, but once on three try
it would crash shoebox and loose the latest modifications I had done.
