API inconsistencyGET POST and PUT all offer different issue elements
GET: misses: fixfor, affected, resolution, resolvedBy, resolvedOn, closedOn
PUT misses: createdBy
POST misses: resolution, resolvedBy, resolvedOn
I get that the GET operation might already be filtered on `closed == false` but stricly speaking if i do a REST operation on /api/projects/{id}/issues/ the only filter that from a REST perspective was specified is the projectid.
In any case the exposed entity that the REST operations are performed on should not be different depending on the HTTP method used.

Fixx api returns openid address ?it seems the call to get all the users gets the openid address as well. Is this shielded off or null'ed for non-administrators ? If not i reckon its a good idea to null it in future releases for regular users/clients.

Fixx API weight in prioritiesIn the REST API documentation the get for priorities states the folowing:
<priority>
<id>1</id>
<name>Minor</name>
<description>Minor task</description>
<weight>sarat</weight>
</priority>
Can i assume priority is in fact an integer ?
A comment on the question "Fixed in version" in hedgehog lab:
Sure that would work too :) Seperate planned and actual fix version makes for good meta data though. – Martijn Laarman, on September 23, 2009 09:18

Fixed in versionWhen resolving an issue it would be very handy to mark it as fixed in some version.
Right now we have a "To be fixed in" but I have to admit I don't always make my deadlines :)
This new field could default to the "To be fixed in" field and the only time someone could change the value for this field is when resolving an issue.-

Yes i can confirm Chrome 3.0* (Latest Beta channel release) no longer has this issue. – Martijn Laarman, on September 02, 2009 07:53

OK i can only vouch for Solr which is built on top of Lucene, we've had pleasant experiences with the indexing. – Martijn Laarman, on August 27, 2009 05:30
Martijn Laarman replied on August 27, 2009 05:27 to the idea "Messages notification" in hedgehog lab:
Sure,
Basically on SO whenever someone replies to an answer or question you give your messages icon will light up. This is perfect to keep track of any responses you might get. The same could work for Fixx: if someone replies to an issue i created or that is assigned to me 90% of the time this is crucial information but right now these responses dont acquire my attention when i login. A small icon showing up would be enough to take me to a list of issues with new responses.
The same could be said about any issue i reply to but are not the creator or the assignee, if i bothered to reply i must be interested in any discussion that might be going on in that issue.
Perhaps this could go to the left of the profile link saying "2 new responses." or something.

I know first hand what it takes to redo authorisations so i can definitely appreciate the fact it will be a long term undertaking :) – Martijn Laarman, on August 27, 2009 05:17

Messages notificationIn addition to the newly planned activity stream (http://getsatisfaction.com/hedgehogla...)
i'd also love "messaging" support. Not to send private messages but a list of new comments in posts i made or replied too. Much like how the messages work on Stackoverflow.com. This way i wont miss comments as they're buried deeper in the activity stream.
A comment on the problem "New issues not showing up in the dashboard" in hedgehog lab:
This is good, i hope you'll take on expanding the list too (to 50 / 75 / 100 etc) items the same way Facebook does with it's wall. – Martijn Laarman, on August 26, 2009 18:56

I personally still like the notion of groups. Say a client company has 6 projects if the client wishes to add another user (which we usually do for em) we have to add this client/user to 6 different projects as suppose to making him member of 1 group.
Also adding 30 people (exaggerated?) to a project is a cumbersome task.

Cool so in effect we are able to use Lucene query syntax in the search field ? If so it might be worth having an help page for it and listing some of the fields we can use ?
So does title have precedence over the rest of the index fields ?
It might still be a good idea though to have a look at the indexers and tokenizers on your full text fields. Lucene is great at indexing plural/singulars, typo's and synonyms. It's a small effort with a large trade off. Non tech users won't get into the habit of using "translation*" if they want "translation" AND "translations".
There's also the highlighting feature currently still unused.
Having said that without knowledge of the lucene index in place of course :)
A comment on the question "When does fixx send out email notifications ?" in hedgehog lab:
Will it be the admin that dictates it or will Users be able to turn certain messaging settings on/off ? The later sounds like it would please a broader audience. – Martijn Laarman, on August 26, 2009 18:29

Moving over orphan issuesWhen you mark a version as released it would be very handy to have some sort of way to move any non resolved issue that belonged to that version to another non-released version and possibly close all resolved issues from that version that weren't closed already.
Martijn Laarman reported a problem in hedgehog lab on June 19, 2009 10:56:
Issue description carriage returns.Enters in the description are stripped and only shift+enters will add an enter. If I remember correctly enters render a p tag and shift enters a br tag when an iFrame/element is in designMode (which is what tinyMCE does under hood).

Create & Add Another Issue"Create & Add Another Issue"
Should remember the values in the dropdowns and checkboxes. The most obvious use case of that button is when testing out an application and filling out bugs, the dropdowns and checkbox choices aren't going to change (much).
