Borders out of positionI realise that I'm pushing the boundaries a bit here, as I just updated to Next.238 from Next.220 desktop client and got the below issue with element borders cropping the top and hanging below the of various objects.
The most obvious problem is on the grid/table, but you can also see the issue where the tabs don't meet the tab bar body. Harder to see but the underlying dialog window header and its body now over lap.
Obviously, I realise that I'm using beta release software, but thought you might like to know of the issue.

If you're feeling brave : http://www.balsamiq.com/products/mock... ;) Peldi fixed it there last night. – mr_nil, on July 29, 2009 14:54-

lol... version 6! So you're telling me you can fix this for my demo tomorrow!!?? ;oD
It would definitely be good to see this in there, so that you can do a demo on a client site without worrying that their weird and wonderful huge plasma screen at some bizarre resolution or old school 800x600 max resolution projector will destroy your incredible mockups. :)
mr_nil replied on July 28, 2009 22:20 to the problem "Fullscreen mode doesn't "fit to screen"" in Balsamiq:
Pretty much.
I'm massively oversimplifying this and this wouldn't be applicable to the zoom feature, but Balsamiq is a Flex app sitting in an AIR wrapper. Is that right?
All in all its just lots of flash. In the case of the full screen mode, could you not just resize the wrapper that the mock-up is sitting in to the screen size? There's a whole bunch of maths involved to handle the 16:9 vs 4:3 resolutions which is a pain, but is possible.

That was the what I was seeing.
Just tried it and that seems to work nicely. The only thing I noticed was that it said that it was exporting 11 mockups (10 + the blank) and then obviously it only exported the 10 as you would expect. I wouldn't expect the blank to be exported, but should the export message say its exporting the 10 "saved" mockups?

Well no its not a fix, but it does 2 things. 1) gives you a workaround while waiting for a fix 2) gives the nice folks at balsamiq a better steer when looking to create the fix. ;)
Its a bug I found, worked out what was required to recreate and was going to create a new report for. Better to add to your existing report than for me to create a duplicate. (Can you tell I'm a software developer? ;))

A comment on the idea "Enhanced paragraph widget for bullet lists and numbered lists" in Balsamiq:
What about using wiki format parsing in paragraphs? eg Trac uses " *" for UL and " 1." for OL and so on – mr_nil, on May 28, 2009 13:31-

A comment on the question "Free Standalone Mockup Player" in Balsamiq:
The demo version allows you to load as many mockups as you like. However you can't save any changes and there's a 5 minute "Thank you for trying...." message.
The message is the killer really, as you can't be having that coming up all the time in a client meeting, nor will a client really want to download and install a demo of balsamiq. A free player would be ideal for both of these use cases. – mr_nil, on May 27, 2009 19:59

Yep. Double checked before I posted so I didn't look a numpty.
That said - I just restarted balsamiq and its back again.
I also had a problem with the tabs appearing blank when I selected a "new mockup" tab, but that's ok now too.
If I manage to replicate it I'll get back to you. Thanks for the quick reply.

Graph paper gone missing in latest versionI just updated to the new version.
Version: 1.6.13 - 05/26/2009 04:31 11:28 (Air)
Flash Player Version: WIN 10,0,22,87
And noticed that the graph paper has gone missing.
This might be a Windows 7 issue, but wasn't a problem previously so thought I'd best raise it.
mr_nil asked a question in Balsamiq on May 26, 2009 09:14:
Free Standalone Mockup PlayerI was demoing the work I've done with Balsamiq to my MD last week. He loved what he saw and wanted me to come up with some con's as well as pros of using Balsamiq and provide them as feed back to various people in our company and yourself.
I mentioned that in order to do a demo of a site to a client you would need to install a licensed copy of balsamiq, so that you don't get the 5 minute reminder all the time.
He asked, is there not a free player that you could use that doesn't include all the editor features?
It strikes me that given that the functionality already exists in the Flex app underlying Balsamiq, that this could potentially be a quick and nice feature that would make Balsamiq much more accessible and easier to demo mock-ups to clients without the need for a full version of Balsamiq.
Additionally, he mentioned "export to an exe for demoing". By this he means exporting a project to a wrapped up file that would contain the player and be run from a simple double click.
