I'd like Opera support, too!
Maybe Xmarks doesn't need to be integrated into the Opera browser itself!? What's about adding support of the "Opera Link" service into Xmarks?
As Xmarks for IE is running independantly from Internet Explorer anyway, it also could synchronize with Opera Link, which is XML based and should not be too hard.
So basically the Opera browser syncs with the Opera Link online service (not even knowing about Xmarks existance), and Xmarks itself synchronizes not only with its own online service, but with Opera Link, too.
Information on Opera Link see:
* http://link.opera.com/
* http://www.opera.com/link/
* http://opera-fansite.de/wiki/Link (in German)
Actually I like the general idea, that Xmarks could build a bridge between different online boomark services.

Martin

Martin Ramsch replied on August 15, 2009 23:54 to the problem "Upon 1st time sync: Error "windows id:6"." in Xmarks:
I finally could work around this problem:
(FF=Firefox, IE=Internet Explorer)
1) In FF: import IE favorites
2) In FF: synchronize Xmarks
3) In IE: completely delete favorites
4) In IE: synchronize Xmarks
I did (3) this way: * right click on a favorites subfolder * choose Explorer * display folder bar * delete all files and folders within Favorites (you might choose to backup the contents first ...)
From then on, Xmarks has been working fine both in FF and IE, and I could reorganize the merged set of FF bookmarks and IE favorites without any further problems.
Hard start, but the working setup now is very neat.
