Fr
Wowser thats a big GIF ;) 11 images and nearly 700KB in size Wowser
I would have to agree with Lee that animated GIFs with more than 2 or 3 images in them are elephants and thus is why when making an animated GIF a person should contain their enthusiasms and hold back the quantity to a few rather than many. I would pick your top 3 and set it to 2 or 3 seconds.
The largest animated GIF I would ever place as a banner would be no more than 2 images and 100-200KB. But that's me...
As a style banner Animated GIF's are the only way to go until they allow an image flip or transition code to replace the banner. Wishful thinking ;)
Great site you have there... Keep up the good work

Sorry Fr That space is inaccessible. Your best placement for the copyright would be on the very bottom or last object on your page so that it sits as close to the bottom of your published page. ;) – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 13:49

Arggg I hate coding. LOL
OK Problem solved...
Please pass along this edited code to those who have issues in the future with the flash appearing on top and they want to pull it down a layer.
The code did not like the forums even with the encoder so I put it on a new page...

The first four images are in the site builder

These two are previewed site

As you can see this new code even fixes the flash on top of the site builder toolbar which has always been an issue with us who use flash media...
A comment on the update "New Style Selector and Premium Style Store!" in Yola:
Hmmm they must have the z set to 100 on the grass and something else added which makes it top all other codes placed on the page regardless their location and z. Well except of course for the SWF
I am giving up for now... – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 10:51

I stand corrected. Nothing seems to trump a flash now and even my placing a layered object last does not place it above a SWF media or the grass.
The code your guys are using ensures that nothing can be placed atop the grass. Sad indeed.
Still the flash remains top dog. Can you ask what embed code could be used to pull the flash down under the grass footer as that seems the best bet right now. – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 10:27

Sorry the flash video is so large but I had to capture the entire screen and it makes it a larger file if you do. Let the movie buffer all the way before you begin watching.
I show the site builder in the beginning and the previewed site after... I am not ready to release the URL of the site I was using when I first noticed it so I set up a temp one with one of my flash objects on it to demonstrate.
http://www.screencast.com/users/mreds...
The bug is with all flash that I use on the site and not just this one...
As you know I was the first to play around with layering objects off page on the footer and header and have run into this before. I think I got around it by ensuring that the image which floated was always listed last and therefor always layered on top. Something to bear in mind... – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 09:35

Flaming Text is an online logo generator where you can design cool custom logos and buttons for FREE. Pick a logo, click create and then use the image on your website... A Honey Bear Playhomes Tip...This one had been lost among my thousands of bookmarks and I share it now before it gets lost again...
Create your own free custom logos, animated graphics and clipart. They also have have fonts, buttons, banners, icons and animations.
You may use any of the generated graphics for your personal or your commerical web site.
While they don't say that you must link back to them they do ask that you do. So it is truly up to you...

Hey M
Could you pass along to the programmers that the new "Tall grass growing" style has a little issue with the grass on the footer being placed behind flash banners on the page. It looks kind of strange to see the banner placed on top when it should be on the bottom. There are ways to make the grass layered to the top but I believe for that the code for the grass must be placed last in the page and not first as it is with CSS. Flash has a sticky problem with finding ways to the top regardless what you do. ;)
Thanks

I plan to do the shift over to the new squared glass style as soon as my life slows to a crawl and I can invest in many long and tedious nights redesigning my banner to fit in the space provided and then update my honeycomb menu and background with some cool jellied honeycomb icons. The style width is a little tighter than the one I currently use and it will be an "all pages" edit to get it right. Maybe a month of free time I think... There seems to always be something to change (LOL) to make it better.
Come far since the text filled images made with publisher and then uploaded to the site builder. Wow what memories those were and to see my site builder now awash with custom codes making this, that and the other do everything imaginable makes me laugh at my clueless former self. I have objects layered just about everywhere and the average user would scratch their heads at some of the stuff. Headaches gallor... ;)
The banner that you have now is fun, inviting and interesting so I hope you make the next one just as great... – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 06:31

Great site Diane... Love your layout and most informative content. The sliced apple is quite a nice touch. I am a honey man (no relationship to the bear of course ;) and go through a 2 liter bottle of the golden sweetness each week. I once was a sugar abuser and now that I have been on the honey kick for the last year I feel 100% better and the antioxidants are doing wonders as well. I do enjoy the grain breads though;)
I kept wanting to see a muted collage of fruits or a San Fran park or farmers market on the background. LOL but that's just me... – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 02, 2009 06:06

I have always used this free online generator to make my animated GIF images...
http://www.myspacegens.com/handler.ph...
Although it says it is a "Myspace" generator it is in fact simply an animated GIF image maker. Simply set the image dimensions to "Leave original sizes" and it will keep your animated image the same as those you used to make it providing that the images are the exact same size.
Once you have uploaded the images you can set them to show for as long as you want them to appear. To make it faster than 1 second it takes filling in the second box with a 0.1 to 0.9
The generator is quite self explanatory and easy to use...
If you need to re-size an animated GIF you can use this free generator/editor here...

Hi fellow Ed ;)
You are referring to domain forward with masking which hides the sub-domain from being seen and only shows your bought domain's URL.
If you purchased your domain through YOLA you must contact customer service with your domain and sub-domain information in addition to your account email and inform them that you wish your domain to be masked to hide your sub-domain.
If you purchased your domain through another source please inform us of the domain registrar so that we might assist you with directions you will need to take.
Please BEAR in mind that depending on the registrar sometime this masking might take hours or days to begin to hide your sub-domain.

Genji
I have a fair bit of experience in working with SWF slideshows and transitions which make use of an XML file to bring up images and when looking at your source I don't see anywhere in the embed code where it brings up an XML file. I do see the SWF file location but no mention of an XML.
Could you please post the URL of the website that you acquired the code and crossword from. I know the location in your resources folder of both the SWF and the XML and maybe I can find a code that will work for you if I know where you got it from...
