Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes reported a problem in Yola on November 21, 2009 01:55:
So anyone else having a problem reaching their published sites?Hmmm tre bizzare
I cannot reach any of my sites or those that I created for others on any browser...
Hmmm even more bizzare is that I just checked a minute later and the Honey Bear site is loading slow, the buttons are funky and don't work but the other sites still fail to load completely
All the rest of the web is fast as fast can be ;)

Thought these might come in handy for you. I made them large enough to be used as a single image background if you like. The second is large enough even for those with the highest screen settings.

You could make some pretty cool buttons with the earlier ones for the banner as they are rectangular. Make them smaller, then make a copy and either lighten or darken the image and it becomes a mouse-over button that changes. – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on November 20, 2009 05:44

Hey Diane just the Bears 2 cents worth but when I make a banner for a business I try to keep the company's contact info out of it because when it comes time for them to move, change their numbers or hours they cannot so easily edit the banner that was created by the designer. (I have heard horror stories about having the ideal banner and no way to edit it) If you do however need to add the contact info always give them a blank copy of the banner without the info so that they can have it edited at a later date if they need to. As you are family he has the upper hand already. ;)
Additionally, the other reason that I always add the address, contact info and hours to the (text) content of every page is for SEO. If you only had his address in the banner then search engines cannot utilize the info.
The one that I did above was just as a lark and all it needs is your running plumber and if you wish your bros contact info below the name and slogan. You will need to reduce the size just a bit on the little guy but in the plumbing business the name is more important and needs to really stand out...
I used http://supalogo.com/ for the lettering. The two tone letters with dark blue shadow fit in quite well and stands out just enough to say look at me and remember my name... ;)
Gotta run...

I see that the Bear is not the only one that likes those jelly icons... I thought maybe the cool blue icons needed a cool blue banner background to match... Try these out for a spin. I enlarged, stretched and sized them to match the banner dimensions...
To save the 900x200 sized ones just click on the image to see it enlarged in the next window.

And my opinion on the faucet size is that they are perfect as they are... ;)
Happy site building and great start Diane... ;)

Yikes Randy
Just to let you know that having Yola open in two windows and using the same browser leaves yourself wide open to loosing pages of your site due to code interaction. Regardless if you use two screens it still interacts the same.
This bug is created when you preview and or update your site and any code on Yola window one can transfer over to Yola window two. This blends each page together and thus breaks the page you are working on and in most cases you are left with a locked out page in your site builder. There are few if any ways to fix a site once this has happened and I strongly caution you and anyone else against doing this for fear of loosing, weeks or longer spent working on their sites.
I offer a solution in that if you have Yola open in Firefox and Yola open in Opera, IE or another browser then the cross over bug will not be created. It only happens when it is the same browser.
I have had this happen at least 3 or 4 times in the last year and don't want you to go down that road friend... ;) I never yelled so loud when I had to rebuild my entire index page... LOL)
As this thread will more than likely damage others site I kindly ask that it be removed...
Happy site building

How to instruct Paypal that you have a limited stock and stop over selling your product... A Honey Bear Playhomes tip...Unfortunately the Yola Online Paypal widget doesn't yet offer the feature to stop your button if your product has sold out. However, you can add it to your site by follow these easy steps...
1) Sign into your Pay-pal account
2) Click the "Merchant services" tab in the horizontal menu
3) Click the "Buy Now Button" or the "Add to Cart Button"
4) Choose button type and enter name and payment details
5) Click the "Track inventory" tab
6) Check the "Track inventory" box
7) Enter the "Item ID" and input your quantity and alert quantity
8) When done editing click "Create Button"
9) In the next window and in the (Website) code box click the "Select Code"
10) Right click on the highlighted text and click "Copy"
11) Open your site editor and drag an HTML widget where you need it
12) In the HTML widget paste the code
13 Then Preview or Update your site or page
This will ensure that your product is never oversold as well as give you an email letting you know when your stock gets low.
Happy site building

As to the product size part of your question the Yola Online Store widgets don't yet offer this feature. However, you can add to your site by visiting PayPal and customizing the code so that you can have a size selection (or other) on your site. Here's how:
1. Sign into your PayPal account.
2. Click the "Merchant services" tab in the horizontal menu.
3. Click the "Buy Now Button" or the "Add to Cart Button".
4. Choose button type and enter name and payment details.
5. Check the "Add drop-down menu with price/option" box half-way down the page.
6. Add the details of your selection.
7. Click "Done".
8. When done editing click "Create Button".
9. In the next window and in the (Website) code box click the "Select Code".
10. Right click on the highlighted text and click "Copy".
11. Open your site editor and drag an HTML widget where you need it.
12. In the HTML widget paste the code.
13. Then Update your site.
Happy site building

Sometimes cached bookmark icons get mixed up and it may take you having to delete all references to YOLA in your bookmarks directory then once you have cleared the cache once more and restarted your browser you can re-bookmark the site.
Additionally, I had this happen when I had a bug on my computer and it messed with my bookmarks but it has been known to happen when I am bug free too and only on the occasional bookmark.

I think this needed a little kick up to the top. For those who can afford even a few dollars I recommend helping at least once... You never know it may become your favorite way to spend that extra few dollars each month.
I've been looking through the countless entrepreneurs for hours trying to get a feel for the one that I am going to lend to and hopefully help further their dreams.
