While I understand and can relate to the above concerns can we look at the larger picture here...
Lets say YOU had received a government grant (a no pay back loan) to open a business and that out of the kindness of your heart you offered a FREE meal to the elderly in conjunction to that business. Months and years go by and then a recession hits. Instead of simply shutting down the free meal giveaway that you so dearly enjoy and love doing you begin to alter your business to protect that free and much needed service. You either begin charging more for your services or create new ones to draw in more business. Either way you are simply trying to outlast the financial burdens of one of the worst economies in history. Is it wrong to want to offer a free service while at the same time ask for payment from those who use it the most? I say, emphatically "NO"
YOLA is simply doing what WE all would do in business and during a recession. Adapting and staying in business... An ever changing business plan...
Maybe the issue is that many don't understand a business plan and how future changes to it keep a business alive. I have had numerous businesses in my life that were ever changing and morphed from one into another and through that adaptation I was able to survive and become stronger. YOLA is adapting to not only offer more services but do so while still protecting the free ones.
I personally will buy the pro package and do so happily as it will offer me those things that I have been wanting for some time. I look at it as NOT simply a charge to try and squeeze money out of us but rather like a $4 per month well spent. By the end of today I will not only have the rounded corners style that I have been eying for my Honey Bear Playhomes site but also have the ability to host in my own file manager the .JS files that I have been somewhat unreliably hosting elsewhere. With the ability to host them at YOLA I will be assured that when the file is needed that it will be there just as my site is... Reliability is the key and now I will never worry that a menu or image is not showing as I had intended because the file host company that I saved my .JS file to is down for maintenance (That has happened 6+ times this last year). As the files will now be hosted at YOLA I can be assured of 99.9% up time and that is to me worth the $4 dollars per month... I am extremely happy for that fact...
Happy site building and I am thankful for the update...

Hi vley66
You are not the only one today to have this problem as I am having it as well. I wanted to post to simply validate what you are experiencing. I was going to post but you beat me to it;)
Personally I have tried 10 times and with a few URL's... I seem to think that it could be a Google thing because the code that is produced by the YOLA site builder is accurate and visible in the page source. That tells me that the likely culprit is Google.
I sent off an email to Google asking about the problem an hour ago but don't know how long it will take to get a response???
Happy site building and lets see if they can fix it.

Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes shared an idea in Yola on September 29, 2009 18:47:
Pretty much the best FREE in browser banner maker that I have found as of yet... A Honey Bear Playhomes Tip...King styles is an easy to use and "What you see is what you get" banner maker with the ability to add, edit and move around any object or text. I love finding goodies and sharing ;)
1) Open http://www.kingstyles.com/ in Internet Explorer and click the "Start now" button
2) Set the size to the dimensions of the banner in the style you are using and click "Create"
3) Create your banner... then save...
The cool things about this in your browser banner maker is the wide assortment of resources and output options they have. PNG, GIF or optimized JPG makes it truly versatile and user friendly. The ability to make your banner the exact dimensions or the style you are using is beyond awesome. The ability to use a color, gradient or stripe background... While they only have 8 fonts the style or effect of the text is outta site with the 131 flavors of button looks (Truly an ice cream store of goodies)... Hundreds and hundreds of shapes to make your banners pop and be noticed all with the ability to use the 131 styles that your text uses...
This will I am sure become the favorite banner maker of most who use it... Main banners, side banners, long, tall, square, big, small and everywhere in between. So versatile indeed.
The output feature seems a bit buggy in Firefox and this one I recommend in Internet Explorer so that you don't have to recreate your banner when you find out that you can't save it. Happily I have had no issues in IE.
Hope you enjoy...
Happy site building

If you require the transparency you can use this:
1) Click "File"
2) Click "Open"
3) Select from the two choices for finding your image then click "Upload"
4) Click "Edit"
5) Hover over "Edit" then "Gif only" (it is a PNG image being worked on but it will work still) then click "Remove transparency"
6) Hover over "Edit" then "Convert to" then click GIF
7) Hover over "Edit" then "Gif only" then click "Add transparency"
8) Right click on the image and save to your computer to replace the image that funks out when viewed in IE
Hope it works for you mate... – Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes, on September 27, 2009 07:34

Hey Lee
God know my affinity towards PNG images and as I recall I had this happen a few times in the last year and think that I worked around it by making the image into a PNG without the transparent background or changed them into JPG or GIF as the transparent PNG does not like to play well with Hover.
Go to http://www.online-image-editor.com/in...
1) Click "File"
2) Click "Open"
3) Select from the two choices for finding your image then click "Upload"
4) Click "Edit"
5) Hover over "Edit" then "Gif only" (it is a PNG image being worked on but it will work still) then click "Remove transparency"
6) Right click on the image and save to your computer to replace the image that funks out when viewed in IE
Or
1) Click "File"
2) Click "Open"
3) Select from the two choices for finding your image then click "Upload"
4) Click "Edit"
5) Hover over "Edit" then "Gif only" (it is a PNG image being worked on but it will work still) then click "Remove transparency"
6) Hover over "Edit" then "Convert to" then click either JPG or GIF and then Right click on the image and save to your computer to replace the image that funks out when viewed in IE
Additionally, if you don't remove the transparency before and you simply change a PNG to a GIF or JPG it causes some funky image distortions upon the swap. PNG does not play too well with his friends in the playground sometimes mate...

Ace site revamp... Had a little editing done (little LOL yeah right) and thought to share it before the update...There are some things that require the update to change and all reference to the old trees will be no longer. Those that I used were not sadly not native to the Cedar Park area and thus I had to go with a different variety. All in all I quite like it...
Each link takes you to the pre-published view and thus is why I posted all the links to each individual page...

What do you think of the update so far? A few more days left of heavy SEO and additions and I shall be done.

Ed-a-Torials @ Honey Bear Playhomes replied on September 23, 2009 00:37 to the question "How do you turn an image into a link, AND force that link to open in a new window?" in Yola:
Hi John it really is quite simple
1) Drag an image widget onto your page and select the image you wish to use as the link
2) Click the "Properties" tab in the right side bar
3) Click the "Choose a link" button
4) Type your URL that you wish to link to
5) Paste the following after the URL
"target="blank"
http:// honeybearplayhomes.com
becomes
http:// honeybearplayhomes.com"target="blank"
6) Click the "OK" button
There is a way to do it in a text widget but it takes going into the HTML and editing the code a bit. Use of the image widget is the easiest...

Thanks Guys... I need all the one liners and paragraphs I can get... ;)
The site that I am working on will I hope be out by the 15th of next month and as it relates to helping fellow Christians build their own free websites I need as many testimonials as I can get my furry paws on.
Seems strange reading your kind words as they are all so personal and a part of me can't wait until the 30 days are up so that this thread can be buried ;)
I am forever happy when someone gains something from that which I share and when they so eloquently express themselves as you all have done it hits home a little more than before. I have lived a modest life and this is a little much to handle for me but I so dearly need these testimonials for the website that I am working on.
I truly miss all the time I spent helping here in the forums and wish that I was able to return and rekindle that old friendship but I have so many things going on right now and not enough hours in the day. I will always look to those times with fond memories and a smile to my face. I do so ever love helping people in any way that I can and this wonderful resource Monique began all that time ago is for me and I am sure all of you a friend in itself. Strange to consider a forum as your friend but it is the resource and tool by which many a friendship was formed and when the time comes that I am no longer here I hope that I can in some small part live on in my posts and through those websites I had a part in enriching. That to me is way cool ;)
Now I need to find time to read through the last year+ of posts and find all those one liners people left me... I almost forgot them until just now. ;)
Thanks again everyone and Hppay Stie Bdulniig ;) ;) ;)

The Honey Bear needs some kind words from all of you... ;)OK so I have a project that I have been working on these last few months relating to website building and I need some kind words from anyone who wishes to offer them. I require as many testimonials as I can get my hands on to use on a website that I am building.
So... if you received any help from me, my posts or tips this past year (plus) then I would love to hear them and with your permission include them to my upcoming site.
They should be a sentence, a paragraph or a smoke signal long and as they are going to be on a Christian based website I would kindly ask for no profanities. ;)
You can either leave it here in this thread or email me at ed@honeybearplayhomes.com
That said, I thank you in advance...
Happy site building
