Thanks Monique
so did you have a luck with the banner maker yet?
What is your site called? – mredsayshi, on August 31, 2008 23:51

That's new to site building but not to ad design and layout. I have been doing flyers, posters and advertising for a delivery company I owned and sold to care for my mother full time for 10 years before her passing. I am glad all that experience was not deleted from my brain when I hit reset too many times.
Site envy now that's funny because when I am done I can devote all my time to others again.
Interestingly enough I got started all those years ago with Print Master Gold... Guido I am sure you are familiar with that one right?
Mr. Ed
Arggg but if money was no object it would be so great... Still not bad for $10 total to do the site and sooo many long sleepless nights

Thanks for the test you guys. I appreciate it a great deal. It’s getting better little by little I think. I hope someday soon to be done but I know that when I sell this one and then build another it is gonna be the same thing all over again...
This next time however I will have an in progress section and step by step slideshow.
Well thanks for the use of your eyes...

Could you gals and guys view my photo page and check for load time lags if any???So I was thinking to make the photo page smoother for the viewer and decided to use Photobucket for the small and large images because I found that it offered the ability to use as many images as I wished without the fear of prolonging page load on the viewers computer.
Although I have checked it on a new and old computer and it and the (click here's) loaded pretty quick I wonder if you all could give it a look see and check it on yours...
Thanks so much

PS I know that the first and last set of images in the (view in order as a group) are a little on the wide size but I will change them this evening. Photobucket wouldn't let me in their system so I have to do each one individually.
mredsayshi replied on August 31, 2008 00:26 to the question "Adding Music with SynthaSite" in Yola:
Sorry I forgot that this works as well (the one above is easier for a novice because you never have to edit a url to add the file name yourself. All you need to do is click the file and copy the url in the address bar). Either way it comes from your resources folder but the following link describes what you can put in the above mentioned widgetbox mp3 player url box to have it play one of your music files in your file manager.
This widget is great because the viewer has the option to at first load disable the music easily if they so choose. This is good for many reasons but if you were in a library or at work music might be the fastest way to get them off your site... Just a thought.
I added the following here for you to see as an example. Just replace the (YOURSITENAMEHERE) with your website name and then the (YOURFILENAMEHERE.mp3 ) with your music file name.
h ttp://YOURSITENAMEHERE.synthasite.com/resources/YOURFILENAMEHERE.mp3
I added spaces between the "h" and the "t" to fool getsatisfaction because it always adds a link to urls and for viewing purposes its necessary to do so. Just copy it to wordpad or word and edit the following to delete the spaces, include your site name and to include the file name.
Then copy that to the mp3 widget url box and click the stream box to test. If done correctly it should begin playing your song automatically. If it isn't double check the file name and or that you added the song to your file manager.

Sorry chief I didn't even see your comments until just now and well all I can say I'm glad to oblige. Never been one for a pat on the back or to do something for someone to get something in return but kind words work wonderfully...
Did you look to see if the green checkmarks appeared in the google webmaster tools yet. – mredsayshi, on August 30, 2008 21:33

aha yeah OMG I didn't think of the pic with pooh in it... I had sent a pic over to a friend in Poland to look at and she sent it back with him in it. It just slipped my mind though... Sad because I really liked that one. Anyway, and the others are bought vector art and not disney so to appease the Man I took it off.
Thanks for the heads up I will tell her I got in trouble though and make her feel bad for a little while (nah just kidding) I would never do that.
Thanks for the kind comments about my craftsmanship but you didn't leave your site for me to look at though. – mredsayshi, on August 30, 2008 20:53

name the new page something easy like (((mp3)))
so then us this with your info in it to place in the widet at the URL I sent you above
http ://yoursitename.synthasite.com/mp3.php
I purposely removed some spaces between the p and the : because the system messes with it and it becomes a link which you can't see. Just remove the spaces...

hey I've used this one often. You can stream from another site or save the file to your file manager and stream from that file. I would say to create a new page with it being unlisted in the directory then save the mp3 or music file there... Then save the page and open it up in your browser then click on the music file to open the file in a new window then copy the address and go to the Widgetbox link and insert it into the music widget URL box. Make sure you click the streaming box ok... Adjust the looks and then Get widget... Copy the link into a widgetbox widget and you got sound

Okay Monique, Ruth and everybody else who wishes to take a look could you in your free time take a peek at my updated site. I just now finished and added some new pages that you can access in the Pricing page or through the lower menu on all pages.
Officially I think after adding those I can rest and do nothing else. I just had to make sure it looked presentable enough and not like it was my first web site... Oh wait it was my first.
I appreciate your kind comments and continued interest.

thanks Mary do have a rich uncle??? LOL just kidding.
I am blinded by too many hours looking at it and I can't judge my own stuff so it's good that we have this forum for everyone to give each other tips, trick, kind words and even critic the sites...
I only wish more users would begin posting here instead of simply reading. I know there must be thousands of users out there...
Thanks again for the kudos

Sorry Mary I've been a bit preoccupied trying to put my site out to pasture so to speak and let it be on it's own for a while without me.
I did see that your link did have your email attached correctly so I am sure that it will work properly. I gotta laugh because my computer isn't configured either for outgoing emails through links and I never use them anyway but I will try it later on the laptop... Great start on your site. Looks like you have a lot to share and a site such as yours is a great way to release that which is inside.
Can I get another womans point of view on my site?

Thanks for your kind words Hun they were most needed as I am blinded by the work and I am unable to be a good judge of if it looks good or not.
Yeah as to the sitemap being there I had tried to submit my site to google sooo many times and nothing because they could not locate the file and kept getting errors so I placed it on the Index page and then clicked it to open it in another tab and then I copied the address of the file and submitted that to Google Web Master Tools and what do you know I had no issues come up and the 15th or so attempt finally worked and I got all 3 green check marks saying it's okay. Mind you it was the first attempt trying it this way.

It was the only way it worked for me and god know I tried them all.
Thanks again for the positive comments and I am sure there are many sites much better than mine out there and for a novice I suppose it's okay. I had done quite a bit of graphic and advertising work for past businesses and I guess it stuck with me a little. Good to know.
PS... Hi Orlando Florida

Okay gals and guys out there can I borrow your eyes and mouse clicks to check my site out???So I think I've done as much as I want on my site for a while and think I am gonna sit the next week away from the computer monitor because my eyes are burnin from all the late nights.
Had a blast but boy can a guy get burned out from being his sites most frequent visitor trying to get it spot on and as good as this former Marine can get it. I know, I know it could be a ton better but like I once said "It's my first" and I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into when I started.
Sooooo, I think that I will just sit back and drink coffee and enjoy the sunshine while waiting for the US market to return from the slumps or the millionaires to come out of the corn field because I built it and they will come. Oh wait thats Field of Dreams and baseball players. Darn...
Anyway if you gals and guys can give my site a peek and try out all the buttons and stuff I would be most appreciative. Now I have all the time in the world to help out others like I would rather spend my time on. I will take a few days off though. Sorry but it's a necessity. Thanks Synthasite for a great product...
Be gentle on the comments ;)
Thanks and have a great day...
