A comment on the problem "Order of items in piles reverses each time Bump Top is restarted." in BumpTop:
I didn't mean to imply that the problem was solved previously. This issue has been present for me since I started beta testing back in... September? I don't really remember the exact month.
I just meant to say that I reported it several months ago. – MTFaye, on April 08, 2009 20:52

Order of items in piles reverses each time Bump Top is restarted.I've noticed this problem since some of the very early versions, and reported it before, but it still seems to be present.
I like to sort the contents of my piles by name, but every time I close BumpTop, the order of any alphabetically sorted pile is reversed next time the program is run. It will continue to stay in reverse alphabetical order, even if restarted again at that point. The only way to change this is to once again tell it to sort by name, but then it just reverses again on the next start up.

In order of questions asked:
What exactly do you mean by posting the file structure?
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Bump Technologies, Inc\BumpTop\widgets\B2AT.widget\
The theme loads fine from what I see. There are no errors, and it loads the floor, walls, etc.
The default folder does contain "BG ani"
When I do that on my screen, it loads my windows desktop background, instead of the one from the theme. If I remove that checkmark, it loads the background from the theme, but it doesn't animate.

Alright, so I'm supposed to tell it to use my windows desktop background, and it will then pop up with a question?
Still nothing. It doesn't pop up with any dialogue when clicking the option to use my background, or apply, or OK. All that seemed to do is exactly what I told it: to use my desktop background as the floor. Restarting did nothing. Switching it back to the theme's back ground makes it look just like it did before: loaded fine, but no animation.

It never asks me any questions. Restarting BumpTop doesn't change anything. – MTFaye, on January 09, 2009 01:15

Yeah, my specs are pretty high, so I have no trouble running them at all. It just seemed a bit strange. I'd wager lower-end machines might run into issues.
You're right: the blinking on refresh is kind of annoying. I understand thats an issue with the way BumpTop handles updated files, and not the widgets themselves, though.
MTFaye marked one of Jon West's replies in Indakind Designs as useful. Jon West replied to the question "So, how exactly do you install these?".

Unusually high memory usage with widgetsI just noticed that these widgets seems to use a very high amount of memory. They essentially just update an image file, right? So why would one need to use nearly 100M of ram? It seems like they are very simple applications to be using so many resources.
My current approximate usage:
Bump 2 Time: 93 MB
Bump 2 Animation: 80MB
Bump 2 Weather: 78MB
These are all higher than even BumpTop by itself.
Specs:
Bumptop Beta 17 (2100)
Windows XP x64 SP2
AMD Phenom 9850 (Quad-Core 2.5 Ghz)
4 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX
All the latest drivers

CES animated theme not......animating?It loads just fine, but what exactly is supposed to be animated about it? I notice nothing different about it compared to other themes, and certainly nothing moving. Is it not working properly?

So, how exactly do you install these? The website seems to be very vague about a lot of things.
