Inform users on file compressionAdd an article on your site about file compression, etc. Many users do not know how to effectively compress files to save bandwidth and space, and this would help you in the long run. You could list different kinds of software (like http://kgbarchiver.net/) and inform users on best practices.

Make opting out of your DNS hijacking scheme easier.Make opting out of your DNS hijacking scheme easier. It's too complicated, requires too many steps and takes too long. There should be an instant way to opt out. I do not want it and did not ask for this change, leave me out of it.

I am also having major lag with comcast. I just tested it from my friends fios connection a few blocks away, runs fine for him. Looks to be a comcast issue. PLEASE FIX THIS. This is the third major MMO I have had problems with through comcast, and MMOs are the primary reason I have high speed internet.-

Alright, so you acknowledge that there is a problem with the tech support, maybe one of the upper comcast employees will see this and push for some sort of improvement?
Also, with account verification. If I call with a problem from the phone number that the modem uses, they should be able to tell which modem I am using. On top of that, the process is way to slow.
Dealing with multiple customers at once is okay, as long as accuracy and efficiency isn't degraded.
As for the technicians, why don't you completely train them before pushing them out into the scene?
MySiteComeTrue shared an idea in Comcast on July 18, 2009 19:44:
Improve your tech support comcast, more training please.Dear Comcast,
Although you do have a pretty good services (internet, tv, etc), the lousy tech support detracts from the overall experience.
The live chat on the Comcast support website is horrible. The people sound like robots. Every time I have any sort of problem, it's either A) Let me reset the box, lets try again, alright, its probably just a regional problem wait it out or B) We need to send a tech out. Why can't the support staff try to better diagnose my problem? Why can't I find a single live chat worker that has a specific answer to my question? I always get the run around here.
The phone support is a bit better, but not by far. The phone support personnel are normally a bit better at explaining, diagnosing and fixing a problem, but it still is lacking. A common response is "There is nothing we can do right now".
Another thing that angers me about support is account verification. If I am not requesting any personal information, why should I have to spend 5 minutes just for the support person to figure out that I am the account owner?
Another thing that angers me is the time it takes for techies to come out to the scene. I understand that sometimes they may not be able to get to me for a few days, but I am pretty sure that for some situations you should be able to send out techs the same day. The key is organizing and balancing the assignments.
Finally, when your techs actually get out to the scene, they are not properly trained/equipped for what needs to be done. For example, when I have a tech come out to diagnose my cable problem, and then he tells me that its a problem with my modem and he cannot help me with it because he isn't trained for that, it also frustrates me. The following day, when the 'modem guy' comes and tells me it's a problem with my pole and he cannot operate on the pole, it also frustrates me. When the pole guy comes two days later and tells me that everything is done, but there is a problem with my modem and he isnt trained to work on them, it frustrates me even more. And a week after the first tech came, when the modem guy comes and then tells me my modem is okay, it frustrates me further. My suggestion: Train your techs in multiple areas and make sure they are properly trained and equipped for anything that is likely to be at the scene.
I may seem like an angry person, but you guys could step your game up a bit, couldn't you?

This seems like quite a general problem. I gave you enough details to look into the problem. I gave you the IP addresses where the problem occurs. I have spoken to comcast support and they seem to be inept for the most part.
I am a blogger as well, I would have liked to talk about how you guys helped me resolve the problem, but that has yet to happen.
