How do I make a profile in songbird? I assume it isn't like a profile in any other program and I have never seen a link for it in any of the menus. There is not thing that actually says create profile that jumps out at me. I just install the program, let it find my music and go usually. All my tracks are mp3s. not wavs the wmas, not ogg not flac. as far as DRM, I don't think Amazonmp3 uses those and all the other ones I got off of friends CDs or my cds so I doubt they are drms.
hopefully now that windows 7 is out someone will test on it. Although I and many folk have had the RC since may and its not really that different. I seriously doubt its my OS because i Have had songbird as long as I have had windows 7 (about 6 months) and never had a problem with this program or anything else. When I had vista I had ALL KINDS of issues. They ended with win7.

sorry it took me so long. I am using songbird 1.4.0b3. I was using 1.2.0 and having the exact same issue but I thought I would have better luck with the new one.
I have windows 7 32bit
and I just plugged my sansa into songbird, It always defaults to Manual sync, so I drag the playlist to my sansa, it says syncing x of 31 songs which isn't correct because it syncs 230 songs. And My song Scent of a robot by Pete Miser NEVER goes on. I had to open the sansa's folder in windows explorer and drag the file to it THAT way and that was the ONLY way to get it on there.
Then in songbird. it gets to the last song and says syncing X song and it stays that way. I never get a Sync complete and there is no eject device button.
When I used to sync my ipod it would sync, and then say Syncing is complete.

I have Hypersky's issue also and unlike what happens to Chris its finishing COMPLETELY but it does it every single time. I have resorted to having songbird start when my pc's starts that way when im making breakfast in the morning its doing its scan thing. This should really be eliminated or optional function. And here i thought it was just me.-

Mystitsu replied on October 15, 2009 16:20 to the problem "Duplicate files in library coming from playlists..." in Songbird:
I had that problem also. But in my case, Songbird wasn't just LISTING songs twice or three or four times it was actually CREATING that many of a file. So when I look into the folder of a song that was listed say 3 times, there were 3 actual copies of the song in the folder. My library should be at just under 3000 songs but songbird will show something rediculous like 4 or 5 thousand because of all the duplicates. And I have to manually go through and delete all the duplicates because the exorcist add on? Yeah that deletes EVERYTHING which makes it completely useless. I haven't really had a solution to this beyond taking the past 3 weeks going through and making sure I have no duplicates.

A comment on the idea "Album art as a column option" in Songbird:
This plugin is terrible. It shows a screenshot of how it should look but when you install it it lists all your albums music in small unnavicable boxes. each box has its own scrollbar. I belive the statment was like itunes (or windows media player) and this is NOTHING like that. – Mystitsu, on October 08, 2009 16:49

Im getting the same issue when I delete, and Im on Windows 7 32bit. Now I cannot even delete songs unless I go into the folder and deleted. Its like being able to delete a song got disabled. I used to just delete a song and get the same error everyone else got. I also get glitch (only with this release) where it will try and write the metadata for a song, but it can so it tries again over and over so I have an entire artist group where Each song is there like 7 or 8 times, if I delete the multiples of the song, and leave one left, Songbird deletes the original file, UNLESS i play the song while i delete its clones. Im only having this issue with the new release. I may go back to the older beta cause this is giving me the blues.-

Mystitsu replied on June 21, 2009 02:32 to the problem "5.1 Sound Not Working. Rear speakers quiet." in Songbird:
I have windows 7 and 5.1 surround sound set up and soon to be upgrading to a 7.1 because our pc is our media center but Songbird does not work on my rear speakers. My music is on often and i have a lot of high quality music Id like to have full surround with. I thought maybe my speakers were shot but when we watch movies and Play pc games the sound is perfect. This really should be fixed.
Mystitsu replied on June 01, 2009 15:22 to the idea "Web browser should be optional." in Songbird:
Id like the browser to not be there either. I know a lot of people think its great and you can just not look at it. But that doesn't make it go away. When you do the servey's stuff pops up in it, when you need updates stuff pops up in it. so even if you ignore it, stuff still pops up in it like addons. Kind of hard to ignore something that keeps opening itself. id rather download my addons in my real web browser, and servey's in my browser. Its a media player it shouldn't even Have a web browser. I think a media player should be a media player, and a web browser should be a web browser. but thats just my two liddle cents.-
