Keeping Songbird open without a Taskbar Button

is there an addon to turn off the taskbar button when Songbird is running? It doesn't have to be implemented as part of the main programme but more as an option. Some people wanted to be able to control the programme through the taskbar and they got it. So how about use folk who'd like to not have a taskbar button at all without having to use Minimize to taskbar. I keep my player open 90% of the time. It would be nice to not have to see the taskbar button.

I love My Android G1 phone and I would like to be able to sync my phone with Songbird. Id actually like to see a version of Songbird as an app for Android but that's a dream that may never come true. I have seen that MTP thing for portable devices. How exactly does it work? And Does it work directly with my media card? Is it possible to make it see the memory card in my G1 as a USB device, Similar to the way WMP sees my phone?

I shall try it and post a report. and my mistake. but yes i wll try it. I ditched my iPod for my G1's mp3 player, now to get rid of infernal itunes *mmuuahhahhhahhaaa* ahem... i mean yay ^_^

yes this would be really really awesome. I dunno about all that choosing which albums to shuffle or not but definately shuffle by album. Its odd getting to Kanon Wakeshima's Shinshoku Dolce album, stopping and having to take Songbird off shuffle to play it all the way through and then switching back to shuffle again.

I also like shuffle by albums. Some of my albums don't Sound right NOT played by album (especially m-flo and other artists that have short interludes with spoken word or music that lead into the next song) so Im digging this idea too.

I am having this exactly same problem. Songbird will play for a good 30 minutes then just Stop. I thought it was just me so i ignored it for a while. Then I thought it was my OS, Vista SP1 at the time. Changed to XP Pro (for reasons other than this) and had the same issue. Im back on vista, have updated to the latest version and this is still happening. it doesn't really bother me but i shouldn't have to stop what im doing to make my player go again,.

Ok the 1.2 version is out and songbird still does not do this. I did an experiement to prove it. I had songbird open, the folder it should be copied into open and downloaded music to the desktop. I dragged the files into songbird, which it copied into the programme but when i checked the link to the songs its still linked to the desktop where the songs are. When i do this with Itunes, As soon as it reads them a new folder opens with the album name, and the tracks inside.

I was under the impression that this is what this update was supposed to do. But im still having to go back to iTunes to do this function because Songbird will just leave the files where they are. When you get Songbird to do this, then I will be free to uninstall iTunes.

Actually no, it doesn't work at all. because It doesn't even give me the option to log in it just keepes the options Greyed out. This is important to me and if it is not fixed I will have to go back to Itunes.

The add-on for last.fm scrobbling keeps the options greyed out. I have the last fm.plugin installed but When i try to select options to put int my account info its greyed out. So I tried the second plugin for last.fm scrobbling and the options are ALSO greyed out. I just want to add my account information but i can't so i can't scrobble.

I cannot even scrobble at ALL. the options to scrobble are completely greyed out. I might have to uninstall and reinstall song bird. because BOTH scrobbling plugins do not work. and they have worked flawlessly in the past. Im on vista, now. I had vista original, went to xp and now back to vista, and up until this vista install Scrobbling worked fine.

I am sure someone is going to yell at me, But I happen to LIKE the way apple organizes my music. And I have no problem with Syncing my Zen or my Fuze. Im one of the odd ducks that doesn't care what year the song was made. I just want it to go Artist/Albumname/Track#/Song.

As long as it organizes music at all will make me happy. Lets get the basic feature implemented first people. then lets manipulate it to our liking.

I was wondering if the watch folders did this but it doesn't. I would also like to be able to drag and drop causing Songbird to auto copy. I thought it did before but it doesn't it just leaves the music on my desktop.

Well now i have to reinstall iTunes.

Is this something that is going to take a while to fix? I worked really really hard to get all my album art correct because my music collection is not main stream and some art i actually had to buy the albums from overseas just to be able to scan the art to use. please fix soon. *bribes with cookies* – Mystitsu, on March 16, 2009 19:00
