weirdly enough, it seems solved for all of the entries on the lifehacker feed except for these :
august 25th "The definitive guide to backing up and Ditching your discs"
august 24th "Make Firefox Faster by Vacuuming Your Database"
I really don't mind if they don't get repaired, I just thought the info might be valuable-

It's not read there, but it seems like ratings are not standard in Mp3 tags, as they are in the extended fields, and even there there is two types of ratings, one called ratings_mm and another called rating_wmp. In both cases though the ratings weren't there. funnily enough, it seems like (is it by default?) all song are rated 3 stars out of 5 in windows media player.

no, not even the new ones work. I've re-checked the preference, it is saved, but it doesn't update the metadata in windows explorer. It works with everything else, though. I tried changing the name of the album, and it updated in Windows Explorer... Also, it looks like I'm not the only one with this problem... http://forum.codecall.net/c-c/10317-r...
I have another info, it seems that a lot of my songs have the "archive" attribute, and it doesn't seem I can change it (when I do and go back to the properties of the file, it still has a checkbox at archive) Could it be part of the problem?
Thanks for the help!

For whatever reason, it didn't seem to work... :( – Nabil Boutaleb, on February 27, 2009 14:09

Updating metadata in Songbird doesn't update it in WindowsWhen I add a rating to a song, it gets updated in Songbird but not in Windows Explorer. This happened with Windows Vista and Windows 7 (I didn't test Windows XP). My music is stored on a FAT32 partition.
