By the way, the woman at Cfares who responded to me was Andrea Taubman. Not that she was helpful, but at least, Mel, here's a specific email address to try: ataubman@cfares.com.

Well, after I complained to the Better Business Bureau, Cfares finally responded. But, they wanted me to pay another $49 per membership to receive the $30 rebate on each of the tickets I had bought! As if I would ever give them any more of my money after it was like pulling teeth to get them to respond in the first place. What a scam! Finally, the BBB closed the case after no resolution. My experience with Cfares was very dissatisfying and I would NEVER recommend them. HS

I have not had good experiences either with cfares. I bought a ticket last February with them but was unable to request the promised rebate online because the form never appeared (in retrospect I think you might need to have pop-ups enabled though their FAQs make no mention of this...). After repeated emails I finally got a response after 11 days and received my rebate shortly thereafter. Thinking this was just a fluke, I again bought a ticket a month ago. This time the rebate form did pop up and I filled it out...but surprise! No rebate ever posted. I emailed them again and we'll see what happens. I definitely think they try their best not to give back the rebates they promise.

Cfares is a site that offers platinum members discounted airfare. You join for a fee (I paid $1 for me, $1 for my wife at a promotional fee) and you have access to the discounted airfares. The purchase is actually made on the airline's website, so I paid regular retail prices for our tickets. Cfares promises a rebate -- in my case $30 per ticket. But none has shown up (the purchase date was 8/3/08) on my credit card nor is there any place on their site to see this history. I have emailed them several times (both the CEO, Mr. Jafri at vajidhjafri@cfares.com and their customer support address of support@cfares.com) but have received no response. Nor do they answer their phone. I have come to conclusion that this is a scam. I've contacted the better business bureau and IC3 about them.

So they acknowledged you and you still don't know if you have a ticket? I am not impressed with them at all – Nana Lynch, on June 25, 2008 21:02
