Nothing to see here folks... got this working... my DNS settings on my client side computer were pointing to OPEN DNS and didnt include my new server. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Scott, I could just use Mail.app which works just fine but I paid for and love Postbox. Basically, I can cancel the kerberos dialogue and input my password to get around it but I'd like to know that Postbox is working with my kerberos auth just fine.

I found out that Postbox is trying to handshake with kerberos OUTSIDE of my local network even though I am bound to my Open Directory on OS X server. The only way I can get this to work with Postbox is by VPN Tunneling into the server. This was the only way I was able to get a certificate.

The problem with it going outside of my network is that I don't have ports open for kerberos handshakes.

Does Postbox not resolve DNS for local ip?

I am having trouble authenticating via kerberos. I know it is not the server having issues because I can authenticate using kerberos using Mail.app

Postbox seems to be very flakey with this type of authentication. Kerberous authentication use to work last night. Why would Postbox not be able to find Kerberos but Mail.app can?

I've tried uninstalling the app along with the profiles. Maybe, I need to delete the preferences... However, I couldn't find preferences for Postbox though.

I figured it out, your username is not your email address, you can obtain your username by clicking on Me > My Profile and you'll see your username in the URL. For example mine is http://www.vimeo.com/user484908

So my username would be 'user484908' and that did the trick!
