An update on this problem, freezing also occurs in safe mode with networking enabled.

Skype Freezing PC on Vista x64, SP1
Skype freezes my laptop completely, must hit power button to restart, Dell XPS M1330 running Vista x64, SP1, Avira Antivirus, and all drivers appear to be up to date. The latest version of Skype (current as of Feb 11th 2009) installed correctly and I can run it for about 5-10 minutes, I can chat and fiddle in the menus, but no matter what I do it freezes after about 10 minutes and I need to do a manual restart. Any help? It's driving me nuts :(
