well, yes I'm getting more and more disapointed with songbird.
It makes me think to some of the new mobile phone you can find now. Those that can play mp3 and video, has wifi, 3G, edge and god knows what cutting edge technology that able you to feed you cat remotely.
The only problem is that it lacks many basic features (like podcasts).
The whole idea is great and many of the new features are great steps forward, but what's the point of having all those nice new fetaures if I can't use the software for my more basics needs.
You could put it another way, cause the songbird developers are doing a great job and I don't wan't to upset them in any way, songbird is like a sport car with this new eco-engine with 500hp and suck 3l/100km, the car nearly drives itself on its own. The only thing is that there's no seats and no security belts...
So, please guys, do fix the basic functions first, then we'll talk about new features (I can even provide some ideas if neede).
Good luck

I tried 10 different podcasts - xml, rss, and other formats. Well known podcasts, such as NY Times, NPR, APM. Nothing downloaded. I tried for several days, and searched this forum for others having this problem, and this software seems to not be designed for podcast download. I'm looking for a good linux option, and Songbird looked promising, but it appears to be unable to work with podcasts, and it provides no feedback whatsoever and whether it is trying to download and failing, or what.

All the RadioFrance (http://www.radiofrance.fr/services/rf...) and Collège de France (http://www.college-de-france.fr/defau...) podcasts are not working with 0.6.1, either with 0.7pre. It's frustrating, they are high quality cultural podcasts. Looking forward to use Songbird functionally!

I'm going to second this issue... Songbird's abysmal podcast support is the *only* thing keeping me from proselytizing it among my friends and family (and using it myself). I'm surprised that reliable podcast support isn't considered more of a "core feature" than something like album artwork (workable solutions for which are *already* provided by existing extensions), especially in an application that aims to integrate itself so tightly into the web.-

Nathan shared an idea in Fluid on May 29, 2008 15:42:
Fluid Full Screen SuggestionsIt'd be great if Fluid's full screen mode work more like Adobe Lightroom's, namely:
1) Make it possible to switch between spaces in full screen mode, without falling back to a normal window.
2) Make the menu bar accessible while in full screen mode, either as something that always appears, or as something that drops down when the mouse is moved to the top of the screen.
These two tweaks would allow Fluid + Spaces to function like a series of single-task applications, which is really useful for concentrating on a single project or task. Perhaps the implementation of #2 would also help fix the "Bookmarks bar not working when in full screen mode" problem (http://getsatisfaction.com/fluid/topi...).
Fluid's a great app, and it keeps getting better... There's a lot of potential here, and I'm excited to see where you take it!
