I don't want @replies for those I'm not following - setting broken

I want to see tweets from people I follow,
and
I want to see the @replies these people make to those who are also on my follow list,
but
I DON'T want to see replies to anyone that I'm not following.

Now, I thought I could get that by selecting the "Show me @replies to the people I'm following" setting under "Notices"...

Except that it does not work. I am seeing all the tweets and ALL the @replies from people I follow even if the replies are to people I'm NOT following.

This is very annoying. What's going on?

Problem not fixed as at 24 Sept 08. Try importing Gmail account with >300 addresses and it comes up saying "looks like you don't have any contacts".

The error has changed now. When you attempt to import contacts the next screen says "Hmm... you don't have any email contacts." Like Hell! I have an address book synced across via iTunes from my Mac Address Book with over 300 entries (most with email addresses but some without).

There is still a problem, although the "POST" message has gone. Now, I get a screen stating there are people in my imported address book who are not on twitter, except that, the list is empty! There is a button for "send invites" and a checkbox for "select all" but no entries from the import.

The error has changed. Now, instead of the "POST" error, I get a screen which *ought* to be the list of contacts extracted from my outside mail account (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail etc). Except, the list is empty, with one tickbox for "select all" but thers are no items in the list! Is this progress? Perhaps.

I use iTunes and Plaxo to keep more or less the same address book info across accounts in Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail, all mapping back to my Mac.

NONE of the addressbook importing methods work in Twitter. I either get the cute graphic saying something is wrong or "This method requires POST" or somesuch.
