I am a newbie here, but I think my VIPRE problem is related. I get prompted to install the downloaded definitions, but these are .2416, when I am already running .2422.
I manually deleted the .2416, but still get the problem.
To make matters worse, I am away from my home PC for the next 2 weeks, and not able to drive it myself.
What are the next steps?

I have Counterspy Ver 3.1.3125. This was updated from 2.x to 3 last week. Tried to update definitions but got the "Internet Connection Error" message. I then cleared the temp files from explorer (as suggested) and now it appears to work. But, I got a "Update failed" message, and when I cancelled back to the main screen, it now shows that update to ver 2300 definitions worked successfully.-
