It actually turned my name into Hiv. Do you know how it feels if you want to smash a cool product like that against the next wall just because of this?
This sucks, really.
The iPod is the coolest thing I have at home right now, but this really should be able to be turned off. Ok, let me click the popup if I want to replace it, but not if I _don't_ want to!!! ::((

A comment on the question "An idea for less typing while adding HTML tags" in Mides:
I think a way not to make it complicated is splitting a view into more views, easy accessible by simply tapping an option, or if I tap a setting, some kind of settings slide up from the bottom, like if I tap the "+" in Safari, but with pickers, sliders, buttons, activators, etc... And if it is too much, just split it into more views, I think that this will be also easy to understand and easy to navigate.
Oh, and I don't know whether this is only my problem, but I'd avoid using those small blue arrows wherever possible cause I always need several times to tap it, it always thinks I'm only tapping the menu button, not the arrow... And it got worse since I bought a case ;) – netsnake, on November 06, 2008 11:28
A comment on the idea "Simpler way to insert images" in Mides:
Hmm... You don't have to. I mean I can copy the file name directly from the image file in the files manager, not from a html file, then, If I paste it into a an html file, it makes an "< img src='filename' width='width' heigh='height' >" out of it. Do you understand my idea? Cause my English isn't the best ;) – netsnake, on November 06, 2008 11:20

Simpler way to insert imagesA must-have is also copying image names. I go to an image in my library, and copy it. Then, I can paste it wherever I want to in my code, in my css as a background, etc... that's what I'd be most happy about ;)

Actually, I have another idea. A lot of work, but might be helpful. If I start typing "b", under it it shows me all html tags stating with "b", eg. "b", "body", the same way like in the app store on the iPhone. The same can be done for PHP-functions, with all the parameters listed. But: Then there's not only one field to edit the whole tag, no, in a list below, you have all attributes available for this tag, and if you click one you get a view for this attribute and you can apply the value of the attribute, for example if it's a "href"-Attribute, you can either type an address, or pick a file from the project, or a bookmark from safari.
Even more: If it's the "id" or "class" Attribute, there's a button which shows you all css files available in this project, then, if you click one, it automatically adds a ".classname {..}" to this css-file (with the name you specified of course).
And: with a lot of pickers, sliders, etc. you can make coding very simple, html, css, and anything else. very handy! But a lot of work...

I actually think that the php manual right now is usefull, the one for JS not, because you can't search for anything. Ok, you can't search the PHP manual either, but you have a linked table of contents. Look for "PHP" in the iTunes store, that's how I found mides, and you'll find a reference. It's very simple, but it's how all the references should be. It's just the official PHP ref, including samples and it's searchable. That would be cool in mides, too!

Actually, pure text editing can be useful sometimes, but I very much like the nesting like it is right now. Besides, I can't really imagine how a tree-view will work on the small screen of an iPhone, do you think about something like what you see on the "web-apps"-icon on the bottom of the screen? I can't think that this will be good on the small screen. And it will probably kill the RAM if you expand all the nodes of a 400-lines-code. In my opinion, the view-based navigation is very handy. – netsnake, on November 05, 2008 08:04

An idea for less typing while adding HTML tagsThis would be fine: If I want to create a new HTML-Tag, I don't have to write "< a href='abc.html' >...< /a >" (Please ignore the whitespaces I had to add them because otherwise it would be displayed as a link) but I just write "a href='abc.html'", and mides automatically converts it to what I wrote above after clicking "Add Item". How about this? Would help me ;)
