I'm a BSG fan too!
RescueTime idles out based on your computer's sense of idleness-- which depends a bit on the application. Because of that, it's better for monitoring a work day where you're in an active state... It's less reliable for some full-screen games and watching videos, unfortunately. We could have special settings for video apps and/or pages with flash video on them, but I think this could have the opposite effect (overreporting), so I'm not sure about the value.

How to check to make sure time estimates are accurateI just installed rescueTime today. Fantastic idea and seems really like a useful app.
I'm a little concerned about how accurate the time reports are...
Here is the situation...
I am running RescueTime on a Macintosh with OS-X 10.4.11
I just watched an episode of BattleStarGalatcica (approx 48 minutes long) on the scifi channel using Safari (Most of my day to day web browsing is with firefox 3.05 Beta). After I finished watching )probbaly 50 minutes total) I updated ... and my most recent stats record only 15 minutes on scifi.com....
Is there something about watching streaming media (eg no keyboard interaction) that would diminish the estimated time recorded for a given site?
Thanks
