Sorry I didn't mean to be rude, I really like this way of providing support. This interactive community style. Perhaps it's because this is not my native tounge that it came over wrong.

It's just that like I said, your help pointing to other solutions is great but in this case it first din't help and secondly i _guess_ that this can't be fixed by any "help" but needs to be treated as kind of a bug report. Or rather a call for improvement. I mean I don't have crashes or anything, but come on, a audioplayer (with great bonus functionality) that even idle uses up a third of my ressources? Come on...

    Kind regards,

    Hi Eric,

I too can see the reason for merging topics, but mine only was started after the release of 1.0, which i do have installed.

I looked into the thread this was moved to previously and only found old info with most posts telling you to wait for a stable 1.0 release. Well it is here.

Also like said in my dispute I don't think this is a memory leak problem.

Also the many related topics tell me this is a common problem, perhaps intrinsic to Songbird.

What I think necessary for this to be of any usefullness is a dev commenting, else it is just guesswork. – nFec, on December 30, 2008 06:14

    CPU and Memory heavy, wtf?
    Hi there,
i really like Songbird so far, the only thing that bugs me is the memory footprint and the heavy cpu load.
http://img241.imageshack.us/my.php?im... it can even go up further.
Thats quite a lot for just playing music in the background right?
(Its mp3 not high bitrate flac or anything)
Even paused Songbird takes up roughly 30%.

That is on a Macbook Pro.

    Help, fix, comments, anything please.

    Regards,
    nFec
