Since I don't even really know what you're talking about, I guess not. ;) I reckon it must be set to default because I don't thing I ever played around with User Agent. :) – ngl, on October 22, 2008 03:21

No intrusion at all. :) Well, I've got IE7 installed but its acting weird: when I try to access a site, it just opens a new window of my default browser (Safari). But the Brightkite homepage sure looks messy on IE6... :P
I'm planning on switching to Mac soon... ;) – ngl, on October 22, 2008 03:17

I thought about it before and did just that now... with no luck. :( I was greeted with the same minimal page now asking for my username and password. – ngl, on October 22, 2008 01:06

Hello, Leslie. The problem starts right on the Brightkite homepage and is consistent in every page of the site (I tried every link and provide screenshots of the homepage and of the Place Search page for illustration).

The site looks virtually indistinguishable from its mobile version (rendered on Firefox 3 in the screenshot).

Mobile-like Webpage Display in Safari (for Windows)I'm using Safari 3.1.2 for Windows and lately (I spotted the problem a couple of days ago) the Brightkite site displays what seems to be a mobile version of the page instead of the full featured site on that browser. (There's no redirection to http://m.brightkite.com tough: it's the regular site that adopts a minimal, low graphics version suited for a mobile phone.)
I don't know if the problem of the the new(?) page is related to the introduction of the "Guess My Location" feature but it sure as refrained me from wanting to interact with the site.

Well, but, at least recently, you can set an Upcoming event and uncheck the default "I'm Going" button. So Plazes could reflect that by placing you only to the events you say your attending on Upcoming (and you'd only have to change your status - "I'm Going", "I'm Interested" or none - there). – ngl, on October 15, 2008 13:52

Integration with Upcoming (by Yahoo!)A feature I would love to see implemented is an integration with Yahoo!'s Upcoming: it would be pretty handy to be "automagically" "plazed" at an event I'm attending when setting that information on the Upcoming website... It would make perfect sense since Plazes allow one to be "plazed" in a future activity and Upcoming can feed Plazes with the place, time and nature of the activity.

A comment on the idea "Lat-long, please?" in Brightkite:
I have the same problem: when I enter coordinates for a location and attribute a custom name to it, Brightkite just returns the two-letter code for the country the place is in and the zoom level of the map shows the whole country instead of the specific area. :( – ngl, on September 14, 2008 20:58
