It should (at least in theory) work with 0.92 feeds too, just as long as they contain valid datses on the items, which 0.92 feeds often don't. Looking at your feed, the dates are indeed the problem - you have a pubDate on the feed itself, but the individual items don't have one. -

Originally I thought it was a problem with the pubDate, because of my error message, but then saw this and realized i was using a 0.92 feed.
