Hi Trevon,

There's a bug where if you use special characters like < or > in your profile it won't display correctly. Try removing any non-alphanumeric characters and see if that helps.

The bug is fixed in our latest version (submitted to Apple but not yet approved).

The sound setting you changed only affects messages you receive when the application is closed. To mute sounds when Loopt Mix is open, use the "silent" toggle on the side of your phone.

We're considering a number of different ways of presenting the "People Nearby" and Conversations lists, some of which would allow you to sort by recent activity.

However, since you can chat with users that don't have the app open right now (with push alerts), it's not entirely critical that users be online right this instant.

Hi Christine,

We blacklist devices for egregious or repeated Terms Of Use violations.

Without knowing more about who you are I can't tell exactly why you were blacklisted. Our customer service personnel are very careful about blacklisting devices, so I'm confident it wasn't a mistake. Sorry.

Currently you can't link your Loopt and Loopt Mix accounts. We're not against doing something along these lines in the future, but it just wasn't possible for Loopt v2.0 and Loopt Mix v1.0.

To clarify, you should disable Mix within Loopt and never use Mix there again. When you make a new profile in Loopt Mix (not Loopt), use the email address you used before Mix was a separate application. – Nick Sivo, on October 26, 2009 09:07

Hi Drew,

Did you try to create a new Mix profile in the new Loopt Mix application (that's only Mix), or did you try to do it from Loopt?

Also, do you meet the requirements in the Terms of Use, and use your real birth year?

Try this:

• Turn of Mix in Loopt if it is on.


• Delete your account in Loopt Mix. (Edit your profile, click on "Account Settings", and delete your account)


• Create a new account in Loopt Mix, using the same email address and birthday you originally used when you first used the Mix feature in Loopt.

If you delete your current profile (the one you can access), you can recover the other one by making a new profile with the same email address you used for Mix within the Loopt app.

Check Loopt for the email if your forgot.
