Ok, so this is a huge pain. Don't start this unless you have 30 minutes you can be without your phone. If you follow these directions exactly no data will be lost, but if you make a mistake you could lose all data on your phone.
This list of instructions may look daunting, but it's only this long because I go into extreme detail to make sure you don't get lost :)
To fix the corrupted (or altered) root certificate store on your BlackBerry:
- Download BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.5.
- Install it and set it up with your phone via USB (Bluetooth won't work for this)
- Make a full backup of your BlackBerry device:
- Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Connect your BlackBerry.
- Click "Backup and Restore"
- Click "Options"
- Ensure that "Back up all device application data" is selected.
- Click "OK"
- Click "Back up"
- Save the file somewhere you can find it later.
- Wait for the backup to complete.
- Using your phone, perform a FULL RESET of you BlackBerry device:
- From your phone's menu, select "Options" (looks like a wrench). This can be in different places depending on your theme.
- Press the Escape key until the title at the top only says "Options"
- Select "Security Options". The title should now be "Options - Security"
- Select "General Settings". The title should now be "General Settings"
- Press the Menu key, and select "Wipe Handheld". Don't worry, the full backup you just made has everything in it, including old text messages and email. This also won't affect your SD card, if you have one.
- Make sure to UNCHECK the "Include third party applications" option.
- Click "Continue" and follow directions. This could take over an hour if you have memory cleaning enabled, but typically takes around 5-10 minutes.
- Wait for your device to reboot.
- Choose "Remind me later" when asked to run the setup wizard.
- DO NOT enable your phone's wireless network connection yet. Any messages you receive will be lost during the restore process.
- Back on your computer, restore everything but your certificate settings:
- Make sure your phone is plugged in and recognized by BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Unless you exited Desktop Manager, you should still be in the "Backup and Restore" menu. If you aren't already there, click "Backup and Restore".
- Click "Advanced" and wait for a little while.
- Go to "File" -> "Open"
- Find the backup file you made, and click "Open". The "Computer databases" window should fill with information.
- Select the top item in the "Computer databases" window by clicking on it. It should be highlighted.
- Using the scroll bar, scroll to the bottom of the list.
- While holding the SHIFT key on your keyboard, click on the bottom item in "Computer databases". All item should now be selected (hignlighted). If only the bottom item is selected, try again.
- Using the scroll bar, find "Handheld Key Store", and while holding the CONTROL key on your keyboard, click on it to deselect it. If you mess up, start over at step 6 in this section.
- Use the same procedure to deselect "Trusted Key Store".
- Make sure that everything except "Handheld Key Store" and "Trusted Key Store" is selected (highlighted) in the "Copmuter databases" window.
- Click the "> >" button to start the restore process.
- When asked to confirm, say yes, and then wait for a while.
- On your phone, choose a new password to lock your device if asked.
- Restart your device if asked.
- After the restore is complete, you can safely enable your wireless network connection. You need to do this to make or receive calls.
- Done! Loopt should work just fine now, and the annoying messages should no longer appear.
- If you need to install Loopt, go to http://loopt.com/loopt/dl/ using your phone's browser. Note the lack of a www before loopt.com.
There is a somewhat simpler way to fix the same problem, but it requires you to trust me more than you should ;) It involves overwriting your device's trusted keystore with a correct one I provide.
Please let me know if you have any problems!- Download BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.5.

Right now you can't :(
The Voyager is very different from any other phone we've launched on so far, and we're having to start from scratch with it. Sadly that takes a while.
When we do support it, we'll update our supported phones list at http://www.loopt.com/phones-

Unfortunately, for safety and privacy reasons, we need to verify that you do indeed own the phone number you're attempting to register. The only way for us to do that right now is with an SMS.
We're investigating other options, such as calling you and reading a verification code for you to type in, but right now SMS is the only way to verify.

If I had to guess, you switched to AT&T from another carrier when you bought your iPhone 3G. If you did, you're experiencing a problem we've been having with SMS message routing for ported numbers.
We've recently (yesterday) made some changes that should fix the problem you're having.
Please let me know if you didn't port your number from another carrier or you are still having the problem now.

Also, we're working on a way for users to delete their accounts on the web without needing to log in. Sorry for the trouble. – Nick Sivo, on July 27, 2008 10:37
A comment on the question "How can I never receive another Loopt SMS invitation ever?" in Loopt:
Hi Pooky, the messages you're talking about aren't an attempt to increase usage of the application, but rather a way to notify the owner of the phone that their location is being sent to Loopt. It's not always true that the person who installed Loopt is the owner of the phone. We care about the privacy and safety of our users, and are simply trying to do our best to offer a useful and safe service. – Nick Sivo, on July 27, 2008 10:35
Nick Sivo replied on July 24, 2008 07:33 to the question "iPhone text messages" in Loopt:
It sounds like your friends were replying to the Loopt invitation you sent them, not actually sending you text messages.
It is not possible (even with a bug) for Loopt on iPhone to intercept or in any way disturb text messages sent directly to your phone number.
If your friends send text messages directly to your phone number, not to 56678 (the shortcode from which Loopt invitations are sent), the messages will arrive.
Sorry for any confusion the invitations may have caused.
