A comment on the question "How can I never receive another Loopt SMS invitation ever?" in Loopt:
Until our first iPhone application update comes out that's exactly what we've done, just more efficiently: if(true) { return; } See blog.loopt.com. – Nick Sivo, on July 17, 2008 05:12

Just to be clear, you can only receive invites from people who have your phone number, period. Loopt is a closed network. If you received an invitation, it was from someone who had your phone number in their address book or entered it manually. – Nick Sivo, on July 16, 2008 10:35

A comment on the question "Mass invite on iPhone - bug or user error?" in Loopt:
Jeff, don't worry, as soon as we can release an application update we'll re-enable the indicators that a contact is already on Loopt. Right now the only way to keep them from being automatically selected is to list them as only supported, rather than as a Loopt user. – Nick Sivo, on July 13, 2008 01:02

Hi Jeff,
When you pressed the "Who's on Loopt?" button, all of your contacts who were Loopt users were automatically selected. While we initially thought this was a good idea, we can see why it's easy to miss and can cause undesired invitations to be sent.
We're going to re-think the Invite Friends screens in our first update, and will fix this feature for real then.
In the meantime, we've modified the "Who's on Loopt?" feature on our servers to return friends as "Supported", even when they are in fact Loopt users. This way no contacts will be selected automatically.
Thanks for letting us know about the problem :)

@jonathan - Loopt is currently unavailable for the C290. We're sorting out some issues, but it should be back within the next week or two. Sorry. – Nick Sivo, on July 07, 2008 20:09
