> I'm really new to WordPress; how long does a reasonably smart person take to learn it?
If you just want to learn how to update your WordPress site, you can learn how to post and edit content in a weekend. Learning to code and design WordPress-based sites takes a few months, so most users make use of free or paid themes or pay someone to design them a unique custom theme.
> And if I throw my hands up in frustration, who can help me design my Web Page?
We offer custom theme design. More information here: http://wordprezzie.com/hire-us/
> How do I get advertisers to jv with me on my web page?
You could use an ad network, such as http://buysellads.com
Nick set one of Nick's replies as an official response to "Remove Blog Functions from Posts" in Wordprezzie
Nick replied on October 07, 2009 11:33 to the question "Remove Blog Functions from Posts" in Wordprezzie:
The single.php template is the one that's shown when a visitor requests an individual post.
If you duplicate the index.php page (which is what currently gets shown for a single post), call it single.php, and then apply the same changes to remove the sidebar that you did to the pages.php and catpage.php templates, you should find that the sidebar disappears when you view a single post.
Feel free to email help@wordprezzie.com if you'd like us to take a look at the installation itself and give you a hand in making the change.

Nick replied on September 02, 2009 12:05 to the question "How do I change permissions using ExpanDrive?" in ExpanDrive:
Just to chime in with my own solution: I've been using Path Finder with ExanDrive to change remote permissions.
Doing a 'Get Info' on an ExpanDrive-mounted server in Path Finder results in this screen http://grab.by/2RU It means you can modify permissions as you're used to in traditional FTP/SFTP apps.
It won't be a perfect solution for everyone, but having used this setup for a few months, I wouldn't go back to vanilla FTP apps now.

Nick reported a problem in FreeAgent Central on July 08, 2009 12:28:
Ghost transactions appearing after undoing PayPal importI imported some data from PayPal, then undid the previous import.
Unfortunately, these transactions are still appearing in the "Accounting > Show Transactions" section (myusername.freeagentcentral.com/accounting/show_transactions/2008-04-06_2009-04-05/002), and it's affecting my Self Assessment figures. When I click on one of these 'ghost' transactions to delete it I get a page not found message.
Happy to provide a full list of the transactions that shouldn't be there any more by email if that helps.

Nick set one of Nick's replies as an official response to "How do I increase the width of the menu bar?" in Wordprezzie
Nick replied on April 21, 2009 17:59 to the question "How do I increase the width of the menu bar?" in Wordprezzie:
Hi Iain
Because of the grid system the theme uses, the width of the menu bar is fixed at 790px, but here are a couple of other options for you:
1) Reduce the font size of the page names in the tabs. To do this you need to edit the stylesheet at /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/style.css and change line 39 (underneath the "header tabs").
Where it says this:
.nav-bar { font-family: verdana,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:1.3em;}
just edit the font-size to something like 1.1em. If you're not comfortable doing that, just drop us an email to help@wordprezzie.com and we'll come to the rescue.
2) Or you could just reduce the length of your page titles or cut them in number. (For example, "Product Info" and "Buying Products" sound like they could be combined in one page called "Products".)
Hope that helps, anyway, and let us know if you need any more help at all.
Nick
