Nick set one of Nick's replies as an official response to "Gravatartastic" in Wordprezzie

Hey Iain
That's odd -- they've suddenly broken on our test version too. Please could you try replacing your comments.php file in the /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/ folder with the one in this zip file:

It should solve the problem.
Best wishes

A comment on the question "Is it possible to have pages in the sidebar only on certain pages..." in Wordprezzie:
Hi Ian
Yes -- it's possible to change the header using the method described above on a per-page basis (or on a per-post basis with the post templates plugin here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/p...).
Essentially it's exactly the same process as I've detailed above, except that you'd swap out the code that says get_header(); and replace it with a line of php that says include 'header2.php';
You can then create a header2.php file with different content in the ice-cream-dream folder. I'm not sure how Thesis handles it in comparison, but if you want to let us know and discuss it further you're welcome to start a new post about alternate headers on Get Satisfaction.
Sorry that we've not had a chance to release any follow-up themes. We've still got several in the pipeline, and we'll release them as soon as we can. No plans for an Ice Cream Dream 2 yet, but we think you'll like the new ones nevertheless!
Best wishes

Hi Iain
I think I've found the problem, and I've made a new header file to download here: http://wordprezzie.com/patches/icd/he...
Simply unzip the file and place it in your /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/ directory, overwriting the one that's there.
Hope that helps and let us know if anything else crops up.

Nick replied on December 12, 2008 17:21 to the problem "Forward slash in tagline" in Wordprezzie:
Hi Iain. Thanks for the report and the screenshot. This is an issue caused by the WordPress admin forms, which automatically prepend a backslash to apostrophes after you submit the forms.
If you delete all of the backslashes in the tagline field on the Ice Cream Dream Options page and resubmit the form, you should find that the stray backslash goes away. You'll need to keep an eye on this, for example, when changing other option fields and submitting the form; be sure to clear backslashes in the tagline field each time.
It's a pain, but we've not found a workaround to date! Let us know if you still have problems, though, and we'll try to come up with another solution.

Hi David
Yes -- there's a way to do exactly what you describe using something called WordPress 'page templates'. They let you change the design of each page slightly depending on your requirements.
There's a little bit of coding you'd need to do (or ask us to do), but it's mostly quite simple:
1) Log in to your FTP account, then browse to /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/ and duplicate the file called "page.php".
2) Give that file a new name. ("about.php" or "client.php", for example.)
3) Open the file in a text editor, and add the following lines to the top, changing the text after "Template Name" to whatever you want to call it:
<?php /*
Template Name: About Us Page
*/
?>
4) Next, scroll down to the line of PHP code that says 'get_sidebar()' and replace it with the html code for the links to the pages you'd like to be in the sidebar for that page template.
5) Repeat steps 1-4 for as many different page templates as you need.
6) Now, when you create a page in the WordPress admin area, scroll down to the option that says "Page Template". You'll see a drop down list that gives you an option to change the page template, like this one:

Simply select one of the templates you've created and the page will display as you've coded it to. This technique can be used to change anything on the page -- not just the sidebar.
If you have any trouble at all, or want us to give you an estimate to make the changes for you, feel free to reply here or email help@wordprezzie.com

Nick replied on November 21, 2008 16:38 to the question "Customize Navigation Tabs" in Wordprezzie:
Hi Kerrie
It's certainly possible to add in extra tabs if you don't mind editing the header.php code by hand. Here's how you'd add a tab called "projects" after your regular page tabs (if you don't fancy tackling this yourself, just email us at help@wordprezzie.com and we'll do it for you):
1) Log in to your FTP server and browse to the /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/ folder.
2) Copy the file called "header.php" to your desktop.
3) Open the file and scroll down to line 51, which starts wp_list_pages
4) Under that line add the code that's highlighted in this image:

5) Upload that file back to the /wp-content/themes/ice-cream-dream/ folder and click "yes" if asked to overwrite.
Hope that makes sense and let us know if you need any help at all.
Best wishes
Nick

Nick replied on November 04, 2008 20:36 to the question "Still planning a November theme?" in Wordprezzie:
The next theme is called "Show Off", and is designed for freelancers and anyone wanting to display their work/photographs/biscuit collection to the world!
The one after that will be for bloggers and publishers. I've worked with Thesis and like the theme, but we're hoping to create something that gives a little more flexibility with the homepage layout, as well as some other tricks and ideas to make things as easy to customise as possible. We'll do our best to get it launched early in December, but please don't hold out on our account!

Hey there. Yep -- we're still planning some new theme! We've been ever so busy with custom work recently, but I'm aiming to code up the next theme this week. After testing and tweaking, it should be ready for launch next week.
Thanks again for your interest and take care.
