I bought a replacement battery for the xps m1330 mostly to see if it would boot up. Nope. Nothing.

Dell told me they just couldn't determine if it was a bad motherboard they just put in my xps m1330. Does anyone know if they have any other kind? – Nick Datesh, on November 05, 2009 22:25

I mentioned the nVidia problem because I had the motherboard replaced in August. I had no adapter problems before that.

I just tried one of my adapter on a friend's xps and it worked just fine. His two adapters on my xps did exactly the same thing as my adapters.

I had to get a new motherboard for my xps M1330 due to the nVidia problem. Dell did that under their "extended warranty" program, after resisting for weeks. That was in late August. I had to get a non-Dell desktop to use while the xps was at Dell. I have had to use the xps very little since. Today, I found that the xps booted but then claimed its battery was dead.

Now, it will not come on at all. I have two adapters (including a traveling charger), which have always worked just fine. Neither works at all today. When plugged into the wall, their power lights come on, but when plugged into the xps, the lights go out immediately.

At this rate, Acer and HP are going to bury Dell.
