    i didnt so anything at all - i installed wuala and it worked. same thing did my friend, he's running win2k too. i even tried installing it on a virtual machine with a different (not modiefied cd - on my real pc runs a win2k version i made with nlite) win2k version and it worked. only thing that might be special is that i installed wuala always with administrator login...
    and since i installed netBEUI (restarting needed) even filesystem integration works :)
    thx @ sunk

    Hi Dominik.
    I have local admin rights but my computer sits behind a proxy which may be the cause of this connection problem.

    @David: When you first start, Wuala tries to get all current Jar files from our servers so that you have the latest version. Probably this update didn't work. Maybe you're not logged in as an admin so that Wuala couldn't store the Jar files?

    Thanks for looking at the Win2K problems. Here is a copy of error.log. I hope it helps.

    @david: we will change the installer along with web start and i really hope it will solve the problems. i had it running on a win2k computer as well (don't have that anymore), but i also heard from people having problems. do you have a .log file in the program directory or anything that could have a look at?

    > maybe even true http access without a plugin

    I guess there is no way for Wuala clients to be HTTP servers?

    I was able to make make the W:\ drive work on Windows 2000 SP4 (install NetBEUI), but I still can't fast-forward movies I try to view from Wuala like I can from XP SP2. So, I can still upload & download from inside Wuala but its not as easy to use as it is on my XP computer.

    Note in case you are looking for how to edit the hosts file: this isn't necessary any more and I have removed the post describing how to do it in order to avoid confusion.

    Here is what worked for me (Win2k SP4):

    1) Add NetBEUI protocol

    2) ipconfig /release

    3) ipconfig /renew

    You may need to do the ipconfig /release and /renew after Wuala has started if the drive doesn't map. Or restart Wuala afterwards.

    @Habasch
    Could you explain the steps you took to have it running?
    I can't get it to start.

    @moritz_
    Wuala is a great program. I use it on 3 different machines and like every second of it. I also try to convert my colleagues.

    My only peeve is Windows 2000 support. Your previous message gave me some hope but it might be misplaced. So to clarify matters : will your company investigate the problems with Win2k or is it pointless to expect a fix?

    thanks in advance

    OK. we change our tune here.
    Wuala does sometimes run on Win2K, but most people have problems to get it running.

    I was looking at dropbox and one of the things I liked was that demo video on their website. I think it's a good way to get an overview of the program's features (yes, people are lazy when there is a lot of text).

    For someone who doesn't know what is Wuala all about it would be nice to have a quick tour video showing the basic features of wuala. Maybe you can do this when you launch the open beta.

    This is a bug. A weird bug to be honest.
    May I ask which country you tried to enter?
    (I currently live in Egypt and entered that, which worked fine.)

    Sounds more like a bug to me, maybe it tries to load the correct language for the country.

    Caleido is in Switzerland so they have to be neutral, y'know? Never read "Asterix in Switzerland"?

    hah, crazy survey if you cant actually enter the information that you need.

    select some country you live in, and you cant continue the survey from page one as apparently some countries are outlawed to take part in the survey.....

    i guess thats some antiterrorstrategy or united states export restrictions and censorship and other megalomaniac regulations.

    too bad for the wuala users who live in the wrong country.
