there is some function in the context menus, like contact this user, send email, or there are the bazillion social crap links like skype and whatever else. you have plenty to choose from if the user tells you his details.
then simply send pgp/gpg encrypted email or message to your desired target and you have your encryption.
why should every new program or tool re-create all that functionality that already exists out there and has been created, developed and designed and been deployed ages ago.

wuala would actually need to go for their own protocol thingy, i dont recall the technical name for that now..
like wuala:// and then the urls. that would allow operating systems and environments configure and set a handler for the wuala:// address and it would be all fine. no more need for java webstart crap and bollocks like that.
websurfing on wuala.com is fine, but then why not having the actual downloads also additionally as wuala://yourname/yourfolder/yourfile-xxx.jpg as an additional link. if you click the http direct download, your file comes from the wuala.com webservers, if you click the wuala:// url then your file gets downloaded via the wuala p2p cloud.
10x
p.s. its prolly called uri scheme name i suppose....

nickname replied on February 19, 2009 13:36 to the problem "Windows 7 Beta and filesystem integration?" in Wuala:
internetexploder 8 is supposed to go rtm as early as march2009, and rcX builds of win7 are also supposed to appear still this february2009.
so guess what, win7 is gonna be pushed to the market way before the end of the year, it might appear as early as early summer time on the early adopters market, corporations and even oems might gonna get it early fall this year.
microsoft is definitely panicking as vista is the biggest mess they created so far and huge corporations and most other users would like to stay with winxp even further.
so maybe wuala should just forget about any windows beyond winxp alltogether or start win7 compatibility tests and efforts right away as it seems that win7 gold is just about to appear on the horizon.

yes i have upgraded/restarted. its still laggy... sometimes it takes ages til wuala starts, sometimes its quick.
anyways, i wonder why the devs actually write their lines and "not much changed, only little loadbalancing stuff".... in here instead if simply writing those lines into a simple releasenotes document which everybody would see and be able to observe.
this is so pathetic..............

no linux.... their system looks like they need to introduce a new filesystem storage driver, or storage type, to make all this work on windows at least. what is their business model and so forth? – nickname, on January 30, 2009 18:38

A comment on the problem "2009-01-29: Datacenter problems" in Wuala:
so this datacenter and this company pretty much sucks then. time to switch company if this is all they are capable of. time to go redundant datacenters and time to rethink this whole single-point-of-failure idea again. – nickname, on January 30, 2009 09:51
