I hate to be a critic, but I'm just not into the 3D bird. The old bird has a sorta indie, minimalist feel to me, this one seems a little cartoonish. It's eyes are really huge and it's throat looks stuffed, like there's an orange pillow in there....

If there are media players out there that do it, that doesn't mean they're compatible with my system or that I'll love them as much as Songbird.

I don't see why this is something an EQ *shouldn't* do, if it's something it *could* do. Why limit the features? The staff seem highly creative and about creating a unique player after all.

I know this is a bizarre question, but here goes. I remember that something critical to me was going to be missing from the latest update to Songbird.

Something important that the previous version had, like ability to sync with iPod, or the "Cheezy Video" thingy, or an organizational feature.... something. But maybe I smoked too much; I just can't remember what the heck it was. I haven't seen any comments about it since the release.

Does anyone know what feature has been removed from this version; or....

Can someone point me to an explanation for how to roll back to the previous version, if I install 1.0 but like the older one better?

That's a good point Socks.... Actually I wonder if it's technologically possible, but wouldn't it be great if we could get an equalizer that could balance itself, to an extent?

So, say I want all of my music to approximate one particular set of EQ settings; Songbird would automatically adjust all my music to that balance. This would be similar to the way that some players can adjust for loudness, so that one sound doesn't suddenly blast, and the next song is very quiet.

I find that even with an EQ I'm constantly changing my pre-sets because one song will sound low on the vocal, one will sound too treble-y, etc. In an ideal world my EQ would balance that for me....

Can any employees tell me if this is possible, or just a nice dream?

Hey Michael, It would be really helpful, for people like me who have not been following these developments for a decade, if you could restate what you said in somewhat more accessible language....

For example, what precisely can I download onto my Mac that will set up a system-wide equalizer? I don't know what are any of the things you are talking about. (Kde?? aRts?? ESD?? sound demons??) But I'd be happy to use one if I did....
