The more I play with Songbird, chat on the forums, and update with add-ons, the more I am loving it. At first I was frustrated with some faults but yeah, what other big player is actually listening to working with the input of it's users? This alone is pretty d*** cool. It's sleek, and as Rajan said, it's not even in Version 1 yet. Loving it.
The big shift for me was when I found open-source burning and ripping software to go along with SB, but I know those will probably be tied in later.
My Mac loves it. My speakers love it. Even my cats are happy. Loving it. Praise, praise! Thank you.-

A comment on the question "What digital music formats will Songbird play?" in Songbird:
Hi Geek Shadow,
I'm noticing that when I play something directly from the web- I'll use Radio Paradise as an example because it's well-known- every time I play it a new "Radio Paradise" link (song? file?) is created in my library. So I have multiples of these. I think it's because whatever song is playing registers as a new song, but I'm not sure, because I also get tons of "1048" files. I don't know what these are, but you can't play them.
Since Songbird's focus feature is to play the web, I thought you might want to know of this. It would be phenomenal if Songbird could clean these extra files up after itself, so I don't have to keep doing it. I don't think iTunes can do this! ;)
God I hope this player stays around. I. Freeken. Love. It. – nicolaluna, on August 27, 2008 18:23

Ok, this is the add-on: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/51 (I'm using the most recent version for Songbird 0.7.0) Once installed, a new menu-option is available from the File drop-down menu in Songbird. I click export playlist and choose the one I want, for me, my "morning playlist." I export to a folder in my music library.
I've created a workflow that opens the playlist with Songbird when my computer wakes up in the morning. What this does is simply open the playlist with Songbird. I've tried opening the playlist without the workflow and the result is the same:
It successfully plays the playlist alright, but it also creates duplicates of the songs I've chosen from my library. Doing this again the next morning creates triplicates, and so on; and there's no function to automatically manage them.
Since no actual new media files are created in this process, just new playlists, I feel this should be controllable.... Otherwise importing playlists becomes too much trouble.
Hope this info. is enough to help, and thank you again for replying!
