Hi, Nicole.
Sorry to hear about the frustration. There are a couple of things to try. First, simply reseat the battery. Take it out and put it back in. See if the symtoms change at all. If not, then we should probably ship a replacement ac adapter and see what happens. You may also have a battery that needs replacing, which carries only a 1 year warranty, regardless of your full system warranty. Since it's a year old, as you said, hopefully it's just under a year if the battery needs to be replaced. If you want to email me your service tag and current shipping address, I will have a look at your warranty to see what options we have.

Why is my power adapter recognised but not charging?Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 that's about a year old. The power adaptor is plugged in but the battery icon says I only have 7% because the adaptor is recognised but not charging. The message says "plugged in, not charging". What is wrong and how do I fix this??
