nika asked a question in Parallels on April 03, 2009 01:11:
Recovering data from a crashed/corrupted hdd?I have been in touch with Parallels support by phone for about 2 weeks - most days the conversations cover the same ground as the last few, with a few more hints that maybe there's some hope. I get the well-reported Input/Output error when trying to launch my VM after a Parallels crash.
I've done the copy-the-hds-to-hdd dance, I've done just about everything I can find. Parallels Explorer won't copy files out (another well-reported bug) and Parallels Mounter won't mount the hdd.
At this point my goal is to just get a handful of critical files out of that hdd and into a fresh vm. As luck would have it Parallels crashed just after doing my year end taxes, as I was backing up.
Is anyone aware of any tools to get at those files beyond Parallels Explorer?
I'm using OS X 10.5.6, Parallels 4.0 (3810) and Windows XP Home Edition.

Hi Allison,
It sounds like you've fallen victim to a bit of a design flaw on our part.
If you've bought a Groupon before, you see a list of credit cards you've used and select the one you want for this Groupon.
The problem is when you have a single card you still have to click to select that card - that should happen automatically for you when there's just one.
In the meantime, you can click the select box next to the one card you have to continue.
Sorry about that - we'll fix it asap.
