Can you try using the sample media located at "My Documents\My Pictures\Samples" or "Program Files\muvee Technologies\muvee autoProducer 6.1\Samples" and see whether you can burn DVD using the sample files?
Btw, please check that you have the latest version of Apple QuickTime 7 installed. If not, please download and install the latest version of Apple QuickTime 7 from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ =)

For your information, I think the muvee Reveal came with your computer is an OEM version. Purchasers of PC can use it as part of the bundling, either for a limited period or with limited functionalities. That is to say, what you are using now is the basic version of muvee Reveal, instead of the full version. That is probably why you can not check for updates.
Besides, as the OEM user, you can purchase for the full version of muvee Reveal at a discounted price through the muvee Reveal application itself.
Just go to 'Help', and select 'Check for Updates'. : )
