Use a different search when no results are found

When no results are found, why don't you automatically make a search
in the other category (i.e, Products if Company was selected)?
That would be more userfriendly.

Why is "Company" preselected instead of "Products" in the search form?
I think it would make more sense to search for products than for
companies that you many times don't have an idea who they are unless
they've got a strong brand.

Myself I searched something I knew was supposed to be there but found nothing.
Granted, I didn't read the form close enough and didn't understand you
could also select "Products" because it was _hidden_ in a dropdown
menu (yes, I have lazy browsing habbits).

A comment on the question "are you going to get international?" in Get Satisfaction:

+1 on an i18n'ed GS!
You could provide a localized version based on primarily the browser's preferred language (HTTP content negotiation; Accept-Language) and secondarily on the user's IP-address (i.e, using MaxMind's GeoIP service)

I could provide Swedish translation if you put up screenshots from some common enduser pages if those strings where marked with numbers (or similarly) – noah, on August 26, 2008 19:38
