Yeah, it's quite annoying.
A fellow over in another thread mentioned that it would be a good idea to wordwrap long strings of, say, 30 characters or more? Meaning that words wouldn't get cut off in the middle, but longer strings would.
Twitter has added this functionality in briefly before, and it cut words off half-way through. They disabled word wrapping a few minutes later.
