MY FB account was disabled Sep 29 08. with no reason at all. As I read this blog the only thing I tried to do was install Snap2Face application, since I got a new Windows Mobile phone. I thought it would be nice to get FB on it. Mind you Snap2Face was advertised on FB so I assumed it would be OK. If this app caused my diabled account then why does FB allow it...go figure. I have e-mail FB asking to enable the account as you suggested. I hope I do get it back.
This is annoying and I'll have to try other social webs just in case.
FB should be sensitive and professional in this aspect, while I understand the spamming issue, they should have a better process to control... innocent until proven guilty, kinda thing.
:-(

Hi Thor.
My account was deactivated over a week ago. When I asked why, I got an email saying that I have too many friends with fake accounts, and because of that they are terminating MY account. I asked them to reconsider and this was their answer-
Hi Adena,
Unfortunately, we will not be able to reactivate your account after repeated requests to remove fake profiles from your account. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this decision is final.
Thanks,
Clark

Clark hi,
This seems very unfair to me.
I have no way to know who is real and who is not, and i am the one being punished and penalized for other people having fake accounts.
As a peace worker it is important for me to accept ANYONE that requests my friendship without bias. Isn't that what Facebook is about? Connecting between people? Remember, even behind fake accounts there are real people.
As the Director of the Jerusalem International YMCA Peace Preschool i ask you to reconsider. Facebook got me in touch with peace people from all over the world, even places that might be thought as enemy countries, and that’s what my work is all about. If that fake animal account has a human behind it in Iraq or Syria, shouldn’t that be the bottom line? Striving for peace?
Thank you for listening.
Adena.
Do you have any ideas of what else I can do?? I am so very upset.
thank you so much,
Adena.

I was blocked last night for posting in a fight on Fighters Club Application. If anyone reports you maliciously for not being who you are then they *the lord god of facebook, secretly known as facebook administrator* will block you without checking who you are first. Interesting concept I think, many accounts on facebook are rogue but this is because applications do not allow you to change your persona to the character that you build up. So you risk being blocked on a day-by-day basis. Come on Facebook have a heart, we are all just having a little fun out here... don't take away our friends.

Alright, so mine was disabled, and I can think of a couple reasons why:
1. Spamming, sent the same message to a bunch of people in a bunch of groups.
2. Joining too many groups in a period of time.
3. All those groups that I joined didn't have admins, so I'd go in, admin myself, and then delete all members, thus deleting the group. No large groups or anything, just groups of 500 max, and groups that hadn't been used in months. That's where the messaging came from. I'd tell everyone in the group that it was being closed.
I figured it was reason 3 before, but after reading this, I'm thinking it was reason 1, and that I can still delete bunches of groups as long as I don't message anyone in them.

Of course it's bogus! Check snopes.com if you ever have any questions about these types of emails. – ohdannyboy, on September 19, 2008 18:54

I have a question??
For the past 2 weeks or so there is a message floating around that states that due to popularity Facebook will be shutting down and cancelling your account if you don't send said message to 10? other people.
Is this bogus? I haven't sent it to anyone becasuse it seemed suspicious to me. Should I have heeded the warning?
Thanks,
YJ

I've been disabled since Friday 9/12/08 for adding too many friends - I don't understand how this can be considered grounds for disabling an account since it's sort of the point of social networking. Plus, I really do have a lot of friends! I sent them an email (info@facebook.com) and got a reply back asking me to confirm my email address. I wrote back on Saturday 9/13/08 stating that my college email address (my login for FB) now forwards to my current email address (as I've recently graduated), and I haven't received anything back. I understand that yesterday was a Sunday and no one was probably working. I just sent emails to appeals, appeals-comment, and disabled@facebook. Hopefully they will reinstate me soon. Any other email addresses I should hit up or anything else I should do?
