A comment on the idea "Customizable columns in the Spotify client." in Spotify:
1) Play count, last played and a flag to indicate if the track can be played offline would be nice (not sure if it's what you meant, as offline mode is only for premium users).
2) Review ratings for albums, below album art when browsing an artist would be cool too.
3) Review ratings for tracks would be less useful, as there is already a popularity indicator.
4) The buy buttons are now in Spotify, there's a popular thread to make them optional however. (http://www.getsatisfaction.com/spotif...)
My two cents. :) – norz, on November 23, 2009 00:11

A comment on the idea "I want to create playlists based on my Last.FM listening habits" in Spotify:
NB: when scrobbling with a plugin to the official last.fm client, you already get:
2) top listeners of the track, which can take you to their respective pages in your web browser
3) top tags for the track, also linked to the tag last.fm page
The official last.fm client has plugins for iTunes, foobar2000, winamp and WMP, but not Spotify. A plugin for Spotify would be a great way to enhance the integration with Last.fm.
What we would need then is a tool to convert a last.fm list of tracks to a Spotify playlist. One can dream? :)
(Iirc there's a Playdar app that parses last.fm track lists.) – norz, on November 22, 2009 23:50

What about a seamless integration with Last.fm?
Last.fm is *very* good when you want to discover new music or be social about music, and its catalogue is very big.
Also Last.fm has the big advantage to centralize all the tracks people play, wether it's from Spotify, a desktop audio player, a portable audio player, etc. (Even from youtube, myspace or deezer.)
So imho a better integration between Spotify and Last.fm may be the best solution.
Example use cases I would like, when listening to a track:
- see spotify playlists containing this track *
- see some top listeners of this track, then navigate to one of the top listeners' page and play his top tracks or loved tracks in a spotify playlist **
- see tags for the track, select one tag and play the tracks in a spotify playlist
* find a way to sort them?
** with not available tracks in red, not in spotify tracks in some other colour
Afront's reply to "Make the purchasing interface optional" was just promoted to the most useful! norz and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Sorry but I'm gonna have to join here - I've tried to get used to the Buy buttons but as a premium subscriber I would like to have the option to disable these. I've no problem if this is enabled by default, just let me and the other premium subscribers who choose to disable it.
A few times now I've accidentally clicked a Buy button and had to wait for the window to populate before I could close it again and continue navigating Spotify (since clicking the buy button freezes all Spotify controls). I found this quite annoying.

It would be nice to have a tag cloud of our spotify library (ie: tracks from all playlists), like last.fm boffin does:

If I understand correctly, spotifycollection.com only manages albums, not individual tracks.
Still, the idea is interesting, and some could be interested. – norz, on November 22, 2009 23:24

James, I get your point, but when the company says "This is something we're definitely all for [but] we don't have the resources right this moment to make that happen.", I think it's normal that people get impatient for a feature that is popular (at least here on getsatisfaction) and doesn't seem that hard to do. (There are plenty of third-party scrobblers, for example for deezer, youtube and myspace.) – norz, on November 22, 2009 22:29
