That seems more like the original square tappers problem that was encountered in TTR2 online where the background would still be there, but the tappers would be squares. A little different from what I experienced, but still a problem. – Cunac, on October 14, 2009 22:32

Whilst playing today I experienced the attack of square tappers. Unlike previous reports of the bug, I was not playing online. Instead, I had accepted a challenge to play The Longest Road (Deadmau5 remix) by Morgan Page and finished it. Now I turned away from the screen and for some odd reason after it had showed me both our scores it had the pause menu pop up (the menu when you pause in the middle of a game). Because I'd lost the challenge by such a small margin I wanted to replay it and redeem myself, so I pressed the restart button that had appeared in the pause menu (trigger to problem?). Unfortunately the background turned almost white with a faint outline of everything then screen started flashing with the numbers in the background (pics shown below). I waited and the tappers started coming down and of course they were squares. As I'd experienced the square tappers in TTR2 I understood the problem somewhat, but this time it was stranger.



Sorry about all the pics, but I wanted to show the varying colors of the bug. It also started to go white when you would get a streak of about 10 or so, but then go back to flashing.

I'll try and recreate what I did and will post another comment with the result of the experiment.

The quality of the game will probably be a slightly less starting at itouch 3rd gen as the best, then iphone 3Gs, then itouch 2g, iphone 3g, itouch 1g, and iphone 1st gen.

So if you want the best quality play and don't care what the cost is I'd suggest the itouch 3rd gen or if you're willing to upgrade your phone a 3Gs would be good too. I currently have an itouch 2g (not jailbroken) and I've experienced a few instances of lag as well, but not too bad.

Also having this problem with the 2 Morgan Page tracks from the Track Pack. Tried deleting tracks and restarting device so those will not solve the problem. I agree with Mitsugaru that either there is no artwork, it became corrupt, or there is a download error that is causing the tracks to download incorrectly. We will just need to exercise patience, which in my opinion makes the reward that much better

Also if you are having a lot of problems it may be you need your itouch/iphone checked out. Just go to your local Apple store and they can check it out for ya. Also, just for the record. I'm right handed. I don't know why I inverted the grip to begin with, but I did and it works for me. I can play both ways, and could probably play with the Piano Grip if I tried it out for a week or so. I would definitely recommend expanding one's horizons by being able to play with many different types of grips as it would help with hand-eye coordination and probably assist in other activities. – Cunac, on July 18, 2009 05:37

To chat you open TTR2 and tap the newsfeed. Then on the top there are five tabs labeled News, Battles, Points, Friends, and Chat. Just tap the Chat tab and it should open a list of all the Chatrooms available with a description of how much activity there is in the room. I'd be careful what you say and who you make mad. There are moderators who have the ability to block users (I think its only for a limited amount of time, but I'm not sure as I don't use the chat very often). – Cunac, on July 17, 2009 18:56

Ya, you need to make sure that the silent switch is turned on so that your phone is not on vibrate. I used a 3GS at an Apple store a few weeks back and experienced the same problem. At first I thought I had done something wrong, but then I realized the silent switch was on.

Check that to make sure, and if that isn't working then I'd suggest listening to Ed's other suggestion of deleting and reinstalling. – Cunac, on July 17, 2009 18:51

I wouldn't count on the extra time making the 3.1 update that much better than it would have been if they had released it on schedule. They had months and months of time to work on the 3.0 update and it didn't turn out quite the way it should've. I don't think the extra time will affect the features or quality of the update very much. – Cunac, on July 17, 2009 18:45

I'm wondering, why didn't you wait til September to get the new 3rd gen iTouch?

Also you should back up your iTouch regularly. Doing so will minimize risks of losing your data/high scores/etc, and it will allow for you to more easily update/upgrade your software. I don't think it is necessary to get 3.0 atm, but I would suggest to get it sometime in the next month or 2. You don't need to do it right now, though. Even DXChain isn't using 3.0 right now. – Cunac, on July 17, 2009 18:42

Here's the better version for anyone else with the same problem. I realized after I couldn't edit that it was able to be embedded as well. (let me know if you can't see it and I'll fix the privacy settings). This one shows how I hold my iTouch

Not exactly missing in action. Instead it's that I don't have time to access GS from my computer and the app that I use for my itouch is not working right now because it isn't 3.0 compatible yet. I'll be back on GS as soon as I have either less stuff going on or the app (Satisfaction Remote) gets updated to be 3.0 compatible. – Cunac, on July 17, 2009 06:55
