Omair shared an idea in Spotify on May 08, 2009 22:04:
Control Spotify from taskbar? Or mini controls?Quite a few media players have an option that when they're minimised, the player would show little controls in the taskbar.
I'd love to see something similar with Spotify since I've usually got a few windows open with Spotify playing the music in the background. If I want to pause or skip a track, I have to bring Spotify to the foreground and do it and then find which windows I had open before I brought up Spotify.
I know that the application is one click away, but I'd prefer it if I could quickly stop/pause/play/skip songs through just one click, without Spotify taking focus off whatever I'm doing.
For e.g. here are the Windows Media Player taskbar controls:
The other idea I had was about having a mini player sort of thing. At the moment, there are the 3 standard buttons in the top right hand corner, minimise to taskbar, minimise/maximise window and exit. Perhaps a 4th button could be added that hides the whole application and leaves nothing but the controls and stays on top of all windows. I'd be looking at something that wouldn't be taller than that the title bar, so if I stick it at the top, it doesn't interfere with other applications/windows I have open, but always visible even when I switch different windows.
Sounds like a long shot, but worth a try...
Looking forward to your response/feedback.
Thanks.
