Built-in support for proxies

My school blocks access to Twitter (specifically) and using system-wide proxy settings isn't really a great option/choice because of slow speeds. Could you implement internal support for proxies in Tweetie?

Prefetching photos from supported services

Prefetching and then caching photos/pictures from supported services (twitpic, flickr, etc.,). So that whenever a twitpic (for example) link appears in a tweet, Tweetie will go ahead and prefetch/preload the image in order to save time.

Tweetie could then delete the cache on close, or after a specified amount of time.

I actually wouldn't like inline viewing... it would be rather disruptive. I like the way it is currently, where a new preview window opens.

Search as a tweetie-wide function

Search shouldn't be a tab, as that is slightly odd and different behavior for Mac OS X. In most applications, the search function is almost always done with a search box in the upper right corner (which it is currently, but only under the search tab). I suggest that search is ALWAYS visible in the top right hand corner and be removed as a tab.

Ah, I see. May I suggest changing the behavior of this button? As well as the keyboard shortcut to post-tweet-window so that a second click of "edit" button or keyboard shortcut hides the window? As this is pretty much the standard behavior for such things (spotlight, search boxes)

When clicking on the icon in the lower-left-corner of tweetie (edit/post tweet), the post-tweet-window pops-up. However, clicking on it again will create a new post-tweet-window rather than "sucking back in" (closing) the previous post-tweet-window.

Was this considered a feature, perhaps?
