Open Seo asked a question in Postbox, Inc. on November 27, 2009 13:10:
Can't view tabs with new content (new messages), how to refresh tabs ?When I have multiple tabs opened on search results, inbox, conversation for a while, that new messages arrive, I never know if the tab effectively refreshes or not, nor has new messages to show.
Are tabs supposed to refresh with every new message ? (it doesn't seem to work yet in 1.0.2 Vista 32)
How to refresh search results (saved search) ?
Could we have a graphical sign on each tab that has updated content to alert us about it ?-

happy to see that I wasn't the only user of SeaMonkey :-)
I share question 1) and in fact I changed my way and found it fine to have more recent messages at the top, especially when using View / Layout / Vertical View
2) Do you have View / Show conversations ticked ?
3) I don't know yet, Later ?
Last, have a look to my previous questions to see if share some other concerns :-)-

Scott,
Yes I have a number or unread messages, but this is different from a new mails indication: I have a few dozens of unread messages that are weeks or months old.
I don't care about these, I just want to see where new mails have arrived and would be worth being read now (the sender and the subject would tell me wither they're worth being read now or not)
Did you remember the green arrow on folder in SeaMonkey ?
Regards

Is the behavior supposed to be different for POP accounts ? Or shall we see the same bug ? – Open Seo, on November 20, 2009 11:41
A comment on the question "Displaying unread messages" in Postbox, Inc.:
I have a single POP account configured and it doesn't work either (imported mailbox from SeaMonkey)
I want to search all folders of my account and editing the search settings, the folder is unset and be fixed ("Choose" opens a blank layer) – Open Seo, on November 20, 2009 11:31
Open Seo reported a problem in Postbox, Inc. on November 20, 2009 11:03:
Folders holding new incoming messages are not highlighted ?I just migrate from Mozilla SeaMonkey where I had a bunch of filters and folders to sort my messages as they income.
The import process was just perfect (I have all my messages, folders, filters..)
But now, when I get new messages, I can't see where they are : I don't see any equivalent of the green arrow I had in SeaMonkey on each folder containing new messages.
I have to go over every subfolder and check it for new messages.
Just a pain.
What am I missing ?
Any workaround ?
Any way to save a search for messages of the day ? for recent unread messages ?
Thanks!
(postbox 1.0.2, pop3, single account)

Allow installation of native TB plug-ins without changesWhy is there this need to have a custom installation script for each host application ?
Isn't there a way to workaround this ?
Firefox plug-ins have became key factors in deciding which browser to use: you need a specific plug-in, you use the browser supported by this(these) plugin.
If every TB plug-in developer needs to perform some extra steps and efforts to build a Postbox compatible plug-in, it will never make it.
You will lose 15-25% of users because of this.
The SeaMonkey project is dying also because of this.

Volume license for SMBsOffer volume license for SMBs.
Too many web2.0 services forget about SMB customers
While fortune 500 are not about to migrate postbox, SMBs could tacke advantage of Postbox productivity gains and should be offered a proper license program for them

Yes: I had to register on a third party site chosen among 6 proposals, and once I had registered, I was credited of my software license.
The third party site paid my license fee. – Open Seo, on July 31, 2009 13:18
A comment on the question "How much does Postbox cost?" in Postbox, Inc.:
I have the feeling that the Mozilla organization isn't giving any significant support to Thunderbird development.
Just because it doesn't fit in Google's business model to bring back users on desktop application without ads, and Google is it's main source of revenue.
If Scoot did so much at Mozilla and decided to spin off, I guess there is a reason...
This is why SeaMonkey and Thunderbird are just dead projects with no future. – Open Seo, on July 31, 2009 12:04-

Pay for PostBox via affiliationHi
I recently bought a commercial software license for free...
It was through the use of http://www.trialpay.com/solutions/get...
The process went fine, the system seems well designed, and I have feeling that it is valuable to both parties:
The vendor can increase its sales volume, the affiliate paying for the license gets a very targeted contact.
Hope this can help to go on :-)
