A comment on the problem "Removed JS-Kit from blogger, now all comments look like they came from me." in JS-Kit:
Thank you for trying, and please thank whoever has since added the blogger setup information to the FAQs so others don't make the same mistake, but as I'm sure you suspect, I won't be taking advantage of the upgrade. Even if I hadn't had this comment problem, too many people hated Echo. In fact, I haven't heard from anyone who liked it, even among those who got it to work. They all moved to twitter and facebook to comment while they were avoiding Echo so I'm lucky to get any permanent comments at all on my blogs now, even though Echo has been removed. – orangecatblues, on October 04, 2009 15:44

Chris: I considered manually editing the xml file downloaded from Blogger with the correct names at one point to see if that would take, but decided it would be easier just to put up a note about why I'm not using JS-Kit. Most of my commenters fled to my facebook fan page when I installed Echo because they were having so much trouble. They never returned to either of my blogs. I'm not even sure manual edits would work for comments, and I would have to cross-reference to be sure I got the right people. – orangecatblues, on October 04, 2009 15:33

Perhaps this information about the settings should have been given to me before I installed JS kit in the first place? If it was, I never saw it.
For instance, that information should be listed as a FAQ here:
http://js-kit.com/comments/faq.html
But all this does is emphasize that comments can be rolled back if you want to try JS kit. It says nothing about losing all the authors if the settings aren't set up for "Allow anyone" when you install it. This is why I feel misled.
Telling me afterward that I needed to have these non-default settings in blogger and that now I need to find someone to create a custom script to get my authors back doesn't REALLY mean I can keep all my comments intact if I uninstall JS kit.
Incidentally, the problems my visitors had with Echo were inability to log in, needing to refresh to log in, and comments disappearing.

My visitors universally despise Echo. So I removed JS-Kit from one of my blogger blogs ( http://blog.animinicity.com ) as instructed here: http://js-kit.com/comments/faq.html "If you want to roll back to Blogger's built-in comments, go to "Layout" -> "Edit HTML" on Blogger and click on "Revert widget templates to default". Thanks to comment synchronization, all the comments your visitors left using JS-Kit will remain".
They are still there, but now they all appear to have come from me!
A.) Is there a way to prevent this when I remove JS-Kit from my more popular blog.
B.) I exported the XML file of the JS-Kit comments. Can I install them somehow at blogger, or am I stuck praising my own posts and talking to myself? I can see there's an "Import blog" option in blogger's Settings/Basic tab, but after the first solution didn't come out as expected I'd like someone to confirm this is what I'm supposed to be doing in the order I should be doing it, etc.-
