Having it bounce back up would make sense if I were only Facebook friends with my closet friends, but alas I have many, many folks that I read their updates and move on with my life after reading the comments existing at the time I see the update. I'd prefer it stays chronologically with the initial update.
Granted, if it doesn't bounce to the top, it also better not ding, since then it would be an irritating game of "There's nothing new!"-

Glad to hear that changing the color of the item selected is on the to-do list!
I use the account filters to attempt to get my Twitter messages marked as all read. I also use it to make it easier to double check I haven't missed anything in my email amongst the many tweets, since that's a faster medium and can quickly bury things.
OrganizeFISH replied on October 29, 2009 05:07 to the idea "Colors/dimming as indicators" in threadsy:
I like how the Twitter messages in the inbound box are in message bubbles. How about for RTs (i.e. the message doesn't start @username) have the user's photo and thought bubble coming from the right instead of left? Like how in the unbound box when you Tweet/update, it comes from the right while everything else is on the left.
As for differencing DMs from mentions. Hmm. Part of it is I read L-R, so having the icons representing the different messages on the R doesn't help. I would almost be curious to see how it would look with the from names on the right and the icons on the left, though I know it's standard for the from names to be on the left. Thankfully I'm not a designer, so it's not up to me!
OrganizeFISH replied on October 29, 2009 05:04 to the question "Marking all as "read"" in threadsy:
I understand the not selecting literal all vs. selecting what's on current screen. However, I would much appreciate a "Mark All As Read" button akin to Google Reader for Twitter. This has to do with how reading Twitter mentions is very different than reading email and messages (and possibly Twitter DMs, but I would include that in the Mark All As Read).-

OrganizeFISH replied on January 22, 2009 14:29 to the problem "Google Groups banned me from ALL groups for no reason and they don't "support" this problem." in Google:
I don't know if this is the exact same problem, because I can see all the groups when I'm on the Google Groups homepage. When I click on the links of Groups that are private, I'm told I'm not a member and can't view the group's contents. So I can still get into the groups that are open for public to view, but not the ones that are private.
Adam, I do have that setup.

So this still hasn't been solved for everyone? I created a Google Apps account a whiles back, and after raving about it to a friend, she bought a domain and created an account as well. However, she was definitely not okay when she discovered Google Labs wasn't enabled for her account. A month later, I also created a Google Apps account for my parents. They didn't have Google Apps either. However, it does now. The little green icon in the upper right hand corner doesn't show up until one goes into settings, selects the Google Labs tab, and enable one of the lab features.
Bummer for those who still don't have it for their account. Hopefully Google will get it going for you soon.
OrganizeFISH replied on November 26, 2008 04:34 to the update "A fork in the road (An important announcement about I want Sandy)" in I want Sandy:
I am really sad about I Want Sandy shutting down. While there are other reminder services, I really like the simplicity of using Sandy's real language input. I am largely turned off by all the keywords and formatting many other services require. Also, most to-do services don't allow you to simply store something such as "Remember boyfriend's favorite color is red." That's not something you are going to-do, nor does it have a due date. I can only hope that another service develops such functionality.
