organtech reported a problem in Tightrope Media Systems on February 19, 2009 15:20:
Bulletins misspell themselves.Letters in bulletins are being cut off. We've had to spell 'classes' as 'classess' because the last letter in the word is being cut off occasionally. This isn't consistent, either. The problem occurs both on the ends and sometimes in the middle of the line. I spotted what I thought was an error, pointed the error out to the secretary, who showed me that the bulletins sometimes just cut off a letter. The only workarounds that I can see are 1) to create a bulletin in another program, save it as a .jpeg or .gif, and put that in as the only thing in the bulletin, or 2) add a nonprinting space character, such as alt-0160 after a word on which this occurs.
This is a really strange problem.

organtech asked a question in Tightrope Media Systems on January 19, 2009 15:56:
XML and RSS tightrope carouselI'd like to find a way to get RSS feeds from the ELCA. Augsburgfortress.org, the publishing house for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, has available RSS feeds, but what they provide is code that can be put into a web page. Carousel/Tightrope can't read this type of feed, unless I'm missing something, which may be the case.
I'd like to be able to use one of these feeds, at least on occasion, but I don't see a good way to get them into Carousel. The page with feed information is http://www.augsburgfortress.org/rss/d...
but they have XML codes, not a URL.
If I'm really overlooking things here, I am sorry, but I can't find a place to start. I think the Augsburgfortress.org site isn't ready for RSS, at least for signage.
Thanks!-
