I agree strongly. In going through your process, I've run into the same problem, and found it slightly frustrating, although also useful. I would recommend giving the option of setting up a manual amount while still leaving the goal's end date, and then adding a big link below that says "Calculate my Monthly Payment" below. I'm just an information architect, but still, I would say for usability that's a biggie.

In your FAQ pages, it says that you don't get penalized for closing an account before meeting a goal. Then it only mentions that you have the option of getting the balance on a card. What about the other option mentioned in FAQ of having it ACH deposited to your account? Is that also available to people who don't meet their goals.

Dreamweaver does this for the same reason that Google's simple one form search page has 60 errors when validating the HTML beginning with it's lack of a doc-type.

That reason is: Big companies don't care about quality standards. They just care about money.
